ROYAL HEADS, OTHERS, DECLARE SUPPORT FOR BAYO OSINOWO OF APC IN IKORODU DIVISION. | Shakiru Seidu.

Ahead of the 2019 polls, traditional rulers in Ikorodu Division, comprising the Paramount Ruler of Ikorodu Division, HRM Oba Kabir Adewale Sotobi, Ayangburen of Ikorodu, HRM Oba Mudashiru Ajibade Agoro, Ranodu of Imota, HRM Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, HRM Oba AbdulAkeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, HRM Oba Richard Ogunsanya, Olubeshe of Ibeshe and HRM Oba Aremu Sotonwa, Sekumade of Ipakodo, have endorsed the Lagos East Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Adebayo Osinowo, to succeed the incumbent Sen Gbenga Ashafa.

The Monarchs, who gave their endorsement, on Wednesday, at the Palace of Ayangburen in Ikorodu, where Osinowo was officially presented to them, unanimously declared that the APC senatorial candidate remained the “perfect candidate” for the position. The gathering, which was presided over by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Sotobi, was equally attended by High Chiefs and Baales across Ikorodu Division.

While taking turns to offer royal blessings and prayers to Hon Osinowo, MegaXpression reports that the traditional rulers urged him to uphold the promises made to the people of Ikorodu Division. "We are ready to entrust our confidence in the hands of a competent and capable candidate," the monarchs reveals.

Speaking earlier, Osinowo, otherwise known as PEPPERITO, said his visit is to formally notify the monarchs and the people of Ikorodu of his desire to contest for the East senatorial seat and solicit their cooperation and support. He noted that he was confident of victory in the forthcoming election.

“As Senator of Lagos East Senatorial, I will make you proud. I believe we have a lot of potentials and we are determined to bring all of these together and harness them.

"When we started this process, we heard what some people were saying about our decision. Some people even said Bayo is not educated or where will I get the money to contest? But I want to assure you that this is God’s project and he will put us there,” he stated.

'Pepperito', who later went to Ikorodu town hall to address the mammoth crowd, was accompanied on the visit by some of the APC candidates, Hon Babajimi Benson, MHR, of Ikorodu federal constituency, Hon Agunsoye, MHR, of Kosofe federal constituency, Hon SOB Agunbiade of Ikorodu constituency 1, Hon Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka of Ikorodu constituency II, and several Party Chieftains from Ikorodu Division and at the State level.
