KUYE WINS IKORODU MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD, AS FATAI-ABATAN, DAINI, LAMINA, FOLARIN, AROWOLO, OTHERS, ALSO HONORED BY STARLIGHT MAGAZINE. | Shakiru Seidu. "They're all worthy ambassadors", Igbogbo Monarch reveals.

An Ijede indigene and Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, Mr Lanre Kuye, was on Easter Monday enthroned as the Starlight Man of the Year 2019, after majority of Ikorodu people overwhelmingly voted for him following his nomination by the management of
Starlight Newspaper.

Dr. Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, a lecturer at the prestigious Lagos State University, LASU, who has also been resourceful and instrumental towards the development of Ikorodu Division was also awarded with the most successful civil servant.

Baresi, as he's popularly called, excelled in all academic levels; Best Graduating Student of Political Science. He bagged MSc Degree in Political Science and emerged as the best equally. He pursued his academic career to have equally obtained his PhD in Political Science, far away in South Africa.

Chairman Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Comr Olusesan Daini, Vice Chairman Ikorodu West, Hon Sesan Dada, Prince Niyi Ogunlewe, Mr Bolaji Lamina of Waves Magazine, Gboyega Folarin of Ayayo Gong, Councillor Mathew Arowolo, among others were also awarded in various categories.

Presenting the Starlight Man of the Year 2019 award to PRO LASPOTECH, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo land, described Lanre Kuye as a worthy leader who has contributed much to the development of Ikorodu Division.

Oba Kasali therefore congratulated Mr Lanre Kuye, Dr Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, Comr Olusesan Daini, Prince Niyi Ogunlewe, Mathew Arowolo, Lamina, Sesan Dada and other awardees for their outstanding performance in the year 2019. The monarch enjoined others to take advantage of their positions to champion the course of development in Ikorodu Division.

The Agbaakin of Ikorodu Kingdom, Otunba (Sir) Ayodele Elesho, in his eloquent remarks, commended Mr Lanre Kuye, Dr Fatai-Abatan and other awardees for their well deserved honors and their efforts at connecting and uniting Ikorodu Division

Elesho said, Lanre Kuye emerged the Starlight Man of the Year on the strength of his quality leadership and urged other awardees not to compromise on what brought them these far. "I am personally delighted that young people who are redefining community service and showing that Ikorodu Division is indeed blessed are getting the deserved recognition." he said.

Responding to questions by Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression community magazine, PRO LASPOTECH, Mr Lanre Kuye assured people of Ikorodu that he remains committed to the development of the Division. He said: “My commitment has been to promote, defend and advance the best interest of our people and contribute to the progress of Ikorodu Division.

“Today, I am very honoured to receive this award because it represents the very ideals that sustains my interest in public service." he said.

The award, apart from Ikorodu Man of the Year, also witnessed several other categories, which include, most outstanding Council Chairman in Ikorodu Division, most outstanding youth in Ikorodu Division, most outstanding Councillor in Ikorodu Division, most outstanding foundation in Ikorodu Division, most outstanding Civil Servant in Ikorodu Division.

Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
