GLAMOUR AS IGBOGBO MONARCH, HRM OBA (BARR.) ABDULSEMIU ORIMADEGUN KASALI MARKS 5TH YEAR ON THRONE. ...It's another watershed in the history of Igbogbo Community, Ikorodu Monarch, Oba Kabir Shotobi reveals.

It was celebration time at the Palace of Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, when His Royal Majesty, Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade 1st, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom,  celebrated his 5th year anniversary. He ascended the throne of his forebears in July 25, 2016.

Among those who attended the epoch-making event were first-class traditional rulers, eminent personalities, Captains of industry, members of the political Class and religious groups. They came from all walks of life to celebrate with Adeboruwa-in-Council. The weather was also clement; as many who are indigenous to Igbogbo and other residents thronged the exquisite King’s Palace to celebrate with Oba AbdulSemiu Kasali. 

MegaXpression Media learnt that this year's celebration would always remain indelible in the memory of the celebrator and his subjects because of its significance. It was also a re-union for all sons and daughters of the community at home and in the Diaspora who came to celebrate with their king.

The Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, led eminent personalities to the anniversary. The Chairman’s presence and those of other personalities added glamour to the 5th year anniversary.

Other eminent personalities who attended the event included Barr. Adewunmi Ogunsanya SAN, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Professor Ajetumobi, Pa Tunji Odusanya mni, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, Dr. Saheed Ibikunle, Alhaji Olawale Amusa HOMAT, Sheikh Dhikirulah Andy, Imam Igbogbo Central Mosque, Imam Rasak Lukman, Evang. Oyetola Dankuwo, Barr. Adeboye Dankuwo, Mr Abidemi Lawalson, Mrs Bolanle Basorun, Mr Yomi Agoro, Alhaji AbdulJelil Abubakri Hasbunalah, Mr Femi Kalejaiye, Mr Tope Balogun Andus, Mr Mani Sonubi, Mr Shakiru Seidu, Mr Hameed Sholanke, Mr Gbenga Faniyi, Mr Wale Obayomi, Permanent Secretaries and other top government officials.

Aside these, there were also many first-class traditional rulers among who were His Rayal Majesties, Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, Oba AbdulAkeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, Olubeshe of Ibeshe, Oba Richard Abayomi Ogunsanya, Eweiye of Isiwu, Oba Kayode Richard, Sekumade of Ipakodo, Oba Bashir Sotonwa, Oba Noforija of Odo Onaforija, High Chiefs, Baales and a host of others.

For the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba AbdulSemiu Kasali, the anniversary was a showcase for appreciation of God’s grace and mercy for giving him the opportunity to go this far. He felt fulfilled that Igbogbo Community had grown in leaps and bounds in terms of infrastructural development, economic prosperity and educational growth.

Beaming with smiles with his two Oloris, the elated Oba Kasali appreciated the presence of everyone who attended the event. “I give glory to God for this grace. The longevity on the throne was due to His grace and the good people of Igbogbo Kingdom”, he said.

Oba Kasali equally thanked Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, for his tremendous efforts at effecting rapid development in Igbogbo, noting that five years on the throne, the town has witnessed geometric progression in terms of infrastructure, basic social amenities, economic and educational development.

He commended prominent Igbogbo Sons and Daughters for their invaluable contributions to the sustainable growth and development of the town. The Monarch however, called on them not to relent until the town attains its pride position among the towns in Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.

“The development and growth of our town should be a necessity for all indigenes both at home and in the Diaspora. I urge everyone to embark on establishments which are catalyst for job creation for the teeming unemployed youths and effect developmental changes," Oba Kasali pleaded.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
