The incumbent Chairman and Winner of the Chairmanship Seat of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State on Saturday won the Chairmanship seat and five Councillorship positions in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) declared Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of Saturday’s Local Government election in Igbogbo Bayeku/Local LCDA.

The LASIEC Local Government Collation and Returning Officer for the Election, declared the result at the collation centre situated at the Council Secretariat, Igbogbo, at 10:43pm on Saturday.

"I hereby declare Olusesan Mayokun Daini of APC, the winner of the chairmanship election of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, having complied with the requirements of the law and scored the majority number of votes. The aforementioned is hereby elected and returned,” the LASIEC Officer said.

According to him, the APC candidate, Sesan Daini, polled 2,814 votes to beat his closest rival of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who got 478 votes.

The winner and incumbent Council Chairman, Builder Daini, while speaking with MegaXpression Media after he was declared winner, thanked the residents of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA for the peaceful election and the opportunity given him to serve a second term.

“I want to thank my party leaders and the entire people of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA for reposing another confidence in me. I am ready to do more and promise to surpass my performance in the first term of our Administration. We have served in all honesty and with all sincerity,” Daini said.

Reacting, the PDP party agent at the collation centre, who described politics as a game, said that his party tried its effort, but lost.

Also speaking with MegaXpression Media, Adewale Bolowotan, an APC Stewart at the collation centre, described the party’s victory as a reward for the hard work of a committed and loyal Chairman.

Bolowotan said that the APC’s candidate had improved the local government from where he met the council four years ago. “We all believe in him because of all he has done. No one contested the party ticket with him during the primary when he was seeking re-election,” he added.

In the same vein, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Rep. Babajimi Benson, MHR, and Hon  Adebimpe Akinsola, through MegaXpression, thanked God for given the crown peacefully to APC without any crisis.

“The people have trust in us. It is a thing of joy. Sesan Daini did well in his first term and he has garnered more experience in his first term to perform better,” Rep. Babajimi Benson stated.

The APC Councillorship candidates equally swept all the five Wards in the LCDA during the polls. The Councillors-Elect include Basirat Banjoko, Igbogbo 1, Hakeem Sholawon, Igbogbo 2, Nurudeen Alimi, Bayeku/ Oreta/ Offin, Mathew Arowolo, Ibeshe, and A. Anifowose, Elepe/ Igbe.
