RESIDENTS COMMEND BABAJIMI BENSON OVER RURAL ROADS INITIATIVE. ...As Benson Flags-Off reconstruction of Igbayitayo, Alashe, Ademoye roads in Ikorodu.

The residents of Igbayitayo, Alashe and Ademoye streets in Ikorodu, Lagos, have commended the lawmaker, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, over his Rural Road Intervention Scheme aimed at boosting development in communities within his constituency.

The residents gave the commendation on Saturday during the flag-off of 580 meter road project, comprising of Igbayitayo, Alashe and Ademoye streets in Ikorodu.

Speaking with MegaXpression Media at the ceremony, the Chief Imam of Ikorodu Central Mosque, Sheikh Sheriffdeen Olowooribi, described the approval and commencement of work on the reconstruction of the Igbayitayo, Alashe and Ademoye streets as deserving and commendable.

Olowooribi said the commencement of the roads project was in fulfilment of the Babajimi Benson’s promise to be sensitive to the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Ikorodu federal constituency.

He said the project, when completed, would not only ensure smooth human and vehicular movement but also boost socio-economic activities.

Also, the CDA Chairman, Alhaji Ganiu Shode, equally applauded Rep. Babajimi Benson for his uncommon gesture, urging others to emulate him in the efforts toward transforming the communities in Ikorodu Division.

He pledged the readiness of resident members to reciprocate the gesture by being supportive of government activities to make life more comfortable for the people.

Speaking earlier, Rep. Babajimi Benson appreciated the residents of Igbayitayo, Alashe and Ademoye for cooperating with the Contractor, urging them to ensure maximum support for the project to see light of the day.

"As your representative, I am determined to put smiles on your faces because you all voted for me and what you are witnessing presently is dividend of Democracy. The project has commenced and it would be ready in few months by God's grace," Benson said.

He further urged the youth to assist the project contractor and assist the company in securing their materials so that the project would be ready for the usage of the residents as soon as possible, Benson added.

He further used the opportunity to appeal to eligible voters to ensure that they participated in the coming Local Government Elections, by voting for all APC Candidates.

In the same vein, the Project Manager, Alhaji Muhammed said the project has started and prayed for favourable wheather to ensure its completed in few months. "We need the residents to cooperate with us and help us in securing our lives and property so that this project will be delivered as planned. We can only achieve good results if only the people can cooperate with us," he said.

Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Daini, Vice Chairman Ikorodu LG, Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Vice Chairman Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon Ameen Apanishile, former Sole Administrator Ikorodu North, Hon Shukurat Okeowo, Alapinni of Ikorodu, Chief Ifabolaji Allison, Councillors, Supervising Councillors among other community leaders were equally in attendance.
