Ahead of the July 12 local government elections in Lagos State, the Apex Body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, has inaugurated members of the Local Organising Committee, LOC, to handle the election affairs and deliver higher number of votes for all APC Candidates in the LCDA.

According to Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Chairman APC Apex Body, Igbogbo/Bayeku and member, Governance Advisory Council, GAC, the LOC would be headed by Hon. Olugbenga Oshin, member Lagos Sixth Assembly, and the former Chairman, Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, Prince Gbenga Basanya as Secretary.

In his acceptance speech, the DG, Hon. Olugbenga Oshin, said "It is with deep humility and a profound sense of duty that I stand before you today as we inaugurate the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the forthcoming Local Government Elections, scheduled for Saturday, July 12th, 2025, and to be conducted under the supervision of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).

"First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to each and every one of us here today. Your nomination into this LOC is no mere coincidence. It is a bold statement of confidence from the leadership of our great party the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA (IBLCDA). Your dedication, integrity, and commitment to the progressive ideals of our party have not gone unnoticed.

"We have been given a noble task: to coordinate, strategize, mobilize, and deliver a resounding victory for all APC candidates in the 2025 IBLCDA Local Government Elections. This is more than a political duty it is a service to our people. A service that guarantees continuity in governance, preserves the dividends of democracy, and secures a brighter, more prosperous future for our communities.

"Now is the time to rise to the occasion. I call each and every committee C1, C2, C3, C4, and C5 to roll up your sleeves and get to work. Victory is not handed out; it is earned through unity, sacrifice, strategy, grassroots mobilization, and total dedication to the cause of progress.

"Let us rally behind our Chairmanship Flag Bearer, Mr. Hammed Aroyewun, and his Vice Chairmanship running mate, Barr. Ade Ayeni, along with all our councillorship candidates across the various wards of IBLCDA. Let us reach every home, engage every resident, inspire every voter, and ensure the voice of the people resounds in favour of the APC at the ballot box.

"We are not only defending a track record we are laying the foundation for the future. This assignment is a legacy defining moment for all of us. We must not falter. The time to act is now. Let us deliver for the progressives, for our community, and for the future of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA and Lagos State at large."

Earlier, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun informed the gathering about the coming of the State reconciliatory committee to Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA. He emphasized that while most reconciliation had already been done by the Apex Body, they'll still welcome them to come and perform their function.

Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola also buttressed the point made by Basorun, noting that, as a member of the State Council, it was discussed that the State reconciliatory committee will come and talk to people.

Despite agreeing with leadership position on the reconciliation, the Chairman Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, advised to go deep on the reconciliation, noting that this will help in recording high number of votes on 12th July.

He changed the Chairmanship and Councilorship Candidates to go back to their supporters and address them to take caution and to withdraw their defamative statements and lies said against some individuals, in the cause of gaining sympathy for their preferred choice of candidate.

Daini further argued that this will go a long way to help as a party in the forthcoming Local Government Elections and more so, increase APC votes in 2027.

The APC Chairman, Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Taiwo Orenuga, equally address the LOC members to deliver prompt service for the party, after which Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun officially inaugurated the LOC members.
