REP. BABAJIMI BENSON HOSTS VIBRANT FELLOWS OF LATEEF JAKANDE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY IN IKORODU. ...Takes them on learning tour to Iconic Ikorodu Hall of Fame, 250-Seater ICT Centre, Others.


The House of Reps., M.ember, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, was on Thursday July 10, 2025, hosted the vibrant and brilliant Fellows of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy at his Constituency Office in Igbogbo, Lagos, as part of their leadership immersion and experiential learning tour.

The tour began with a visit to the iconic Ikorodu Division Hall of Fame, where the Curator, Mrs. Funmilayo Aroyewun-Akanji, graciously walked them through the legacy of distinguished sons and daughters of Ikorodu, past and present, whose exploits have shaped history. 

The Hall of Fame features illustrious sons and daughters of Ikorodu who have made significant contributions in various fields. It was a deeply inspiring moment, both for the young leaders and for the Lawmaker. "It reminded me once again why we are proudly called Oga. We have earned it through generations of excellence," Benson opined.

Thereafter, the erudite Lawmaker took the fellows to the soon-to-be-commissioned 250-seater ICT Centre facilitated by him, and situated within the Ikorodu Town Hall, another investment in digital empowerment for the people.

Many of the fellows expressed surprise, having heard only outdated narratives about Ikorodu’s development, after taking them a brief drive across parts of Ikorodu town to soak in the evolving beauty and transformation of the community. 

The visit concluded with an engaging interactive session at the Constituency Office, where Benson was both impressed and inspired by their depth, curiosity, and patriotic drive. Noting that the fellows represent the next generation of transformative leaders.

I thank the Academy and the Lagos State Government for this initiative. With young minds like these, the future of our nation holds promise,' Benson stated.

Mrs. Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, the ES Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy praised Benson for his humility, accessibility, and dedication to Ikorodu's development. She noted that Benson is highly respected in Ikorodu and commended his influence in the House of Representatives.
