The House of Reps. Member, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has flagged off the reconstruction of the 7.5-kilometre Agbede/ Ita-Oluwo Road in Ikorodu North LCDA, with an assurance that the road will be completed within 6months.
Responding to MegaXpression Correspondence, the erudite Lawmaker said that when the road is completed, it will boost the marketability and viability of Lagos and Ogun States. Noting that the significant changes would occur in the area after completion.
"This project is not just about creating access to the towns and villages along this corridor; it is more about reviving dormant economic assets, opening new horizons and reigniting the dreams that once starred our people," the Lawmaker opined.
Earlier, Benson commissioned the Ikorodu Town Hall ICT Centre - a fully equipped, state-of-the-art digital hub with 150 laptops, alternative power supply, CCTV, internet facilities, and training capacity. This centre is a huge step towards empowering Ikorodu youths with 21st-century digital skills, creating opportunities for Innovation, Job Readiness, and Global Competitiveness.
"These two projects are a testament to the #RenewedHope Agenda of our dear President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, an agenda that calls us to translate promises into visible, life-changing realities for our people. Our duty at the Federal House of Representatives is to align with this vision, ensuring that Ikorodu Federal Constituency remains a direct beneficiary of good governance, infrastructure, and youth empowerment," he further stated.
Benson, thereafter thanked the leadership of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG) led by Arch. Taiwo Kara, for their tireless partnership in making the ICT Centre a reality; Senator Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe, GAC member, Assembly members, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye (Ikorodu I) and Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (Ikorodu II) for their solidarity; the SA to Lagos State Governor on Rural Devt., Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for his unflinching support at the two events; and the leadership of the Ikorodu North LCDA CDC, as well as the Agbede community and its CDAs.
"To my party leaders across the division, my brothers - the past and present Council Chairmen across the division, and all stakeholders who journeyed with me from one project site to another, I say a big thank you," Benson said.
