STAKEHOLDERS' MEETING: HON. ABIODUN MOSHOOD ARO ENGAGES RESIDENTS OF IGBOGBO/BAYEKU, IJEDE, IMOTA LCDAs. ...Empowers Constituents with cash supports, educational materials.
Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, AMA, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Ikorodu Constituency II , on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Golden Event Center, Ijede, engaged leaders and residents of gbogbo/Bayeku, Ijede and Imota LCDAs, in the 10th Constituency Stakeholders meeting, held across the 40 Constituencies in Lagos State. The theme for this year’s parley was, “Governance in Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda“.
AMA, in his eloquent remarks, stated that the purpose and rationale behind the constituency stakeholders’ meeting is to promote and enhance effective cordial relationship interaction between the legislators and the constituents through engagement and communication with the constituents in the art of governance and ensuring that their inputs count in the affairs of the state.
“We engage our constituents annually to deliberate on issues affecting our general well-being and to rub minds on issues of concern and of greater progress to our state and indeed to educate citizens on Government policies and activities as well as take your complaints and suggestions back to the Executive Arm of Government for necessary actions.
The erudite Lawmaker further stated that based on past meetings, the Lagos Assembly has been able to understand some of the people’s socio-economic and infrastructural challenges. He reflected on past engagements where food security dominated discussions, stressing that this year’s focus reaffirms shared responsibility in building a Lagos and Nigeria that work for all.
On President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms in the economy, security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development, Hon. AMA described them as evidence of “Renewed Hope in Action.” He equally commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s achievements in transport modernization, sustainable housing, digital governance, and urban renewal, which have redefined Lagos as a model state.
Highlighting the Lagos State House of Assembly’s legislative strides, Hon. Abiodun cited over 50 people-focused laws covering transportation, housing, education, healthcare, environmental management, and security.
On his stewardship to Ikorodu Constituency II, AMA outlined several interventions, including job placements for nearly 100 youths, educational support, vocational training for 117 beneficiaries, road palliatives, construction of classrooms, distribution of transformers, drainage projects, solar empowerment, scholarships, and financial grants to women and youths. He also recalled facilitating the restoration of electricity to Igbopa community after seven years of darkness, and championing sports development through the All-Star Unity Cup and U-17 football tournaments.
He thereafter, paid glowing tribute to Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, describing him as a source of inspiration and a shining example of effective representation at the federal level. He noted that Benson’s leadership style continues to motivate him to deliver more to the people of Ikorodu Constituency II, reaffirmed his commitment to expanding opportunities and infrastructure.
The event equally featured empowerment initiatives where 130 aged constituents, including 15 persons with disabilities received ₦100,000 each. Students’ Union bodies in Igbogbo/Bayeku, Imota, and Ijede LCDAs were provided with customized past questions to aid their exam preparation.
The royal fathers in attendance, His Royal Majesties, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Oba Ajibade Bakare Agoro, Ranodu of Imota, Oba Richard Abayomi Ogunsanya, Olubeshe of Ibeshe Kingdom, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun and Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, members of GAC, Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya, Hon Adebimpe Akinsola, Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje, SA on Rural Development, among others were all commended Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, for his quality representation.
Among various issues and concerns raised by them were: Improvement on education and proper welfare parkage to the traditional rulers, adding that they are the most close to the grassroots. Igbogbo to Bayeku road, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Igbe Laara, Ginti road, Igbodu to Ijede road, Agura and Igbalu road, among other bad roads that needed attention across Ikorodu Constituency II.
