The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, inspected the ongoing construction of the Police Station in Baiyeku, directing that outstanding work be completed promptly to facilitate the commencement of operations.
Aroyewun, who was accompanied by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Relations, Mr Shakiru Moritan Seidu, toured the project site and received updates from community stakeholders on the level of progress and the tasks required to make the facility operational.
The council chairman pledged his administration’s support for the completion of the remaining work, emphasising that the police station would strengthen security architecture, enhance police response and improve crime prevention in Baiyeku and neighbouring communities.
The inspection followed a commitment made by Aroyewun during a meeting last Friday with the Baale of Baiyeku, Chief Saheed Ajibode, and other community stakeholders, who had appealed for the speedy completion of the project amid growing concerns over recent security challenges in the area.
He noted that the operationalisation of the police station would provide residents with easier access to law enforcement services, facilitate prompt reporting of criminal activities and enable security personnel to respond more effectively to emergencies.
Aroyewun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to collaborating with the police, traditional rulers, community leaders and youth groups to safeguard lives and property across Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
He also reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on cultism, violence and other criminal activities, urging residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements to the appropriate security agencies.
The chairman stressed that effective community participation and timely sharing of credible information remained critical to preventing crime, sustaining peace and ensuring the safety of residents.
He assured the people of Baiyeku, Others and Offin that his administration would continue to engage relevant stakeholders and support initiatives aimed at strengthening security and protecting communities across the council area.
