COMRADE OLAKUNLE ALLY MATTI DONATES BOREHOLE TO OJUYEMORA COMMUNITY IN IJEDE, SAYS IT'S IN MEMORY OF HIS LATE MOTHER. ...Community leaders, Residents, others applaud the gesture.

Succour has finally come the way of the people of Ojuyemora community, a town, close to Odoro stream, under Ijede LCDA of Lagos State, with the donation of Borehole to end the perennial search for water from streams. The Borehole was donated on Wednesday, by a progressive minded and Community developer, Comrade Olakunle Ally Matti, in memory of his late mother, Mrs Matti who passed on when he was small.

While speaking with correspondent from MegaXpression Community Magazine, Matti revealed that the community had for decades been suffering for unsafe drinking water and this is the first time that Ojuyemora community is benefitting from such gesture.

"What inspired me most on this construction of borehole in Ojuyemora, is the alleviation of hardship that people of this community are passing through daily, and this had been in my mind for over 10 years to cushion the pains.

"I donates this borehole in memory of my late mother, who died many years ago. So, every 21st of August is very significant to me," Matti said. He therefore enjoined the residents to monitor the proper functioning of the borehole.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Ijede Development Foundation, IDF, Alhaji Fola Saliu, expressed enthusiasm over the uncommon gesture of Comrade Matti, sayings other indigenes of the community should emulate such spirit.

"This will enhance the safety of the children from sending them to the stream to fetch water, it is now at their fingertips and aside, they can trust the water to drink because it is pure”, Alhaji Saliu added.

Mr Shakiru Matti from Canada, who had also been very supportive in achieving this success, applauded the initiative, assuring that more are still in the offing.

The Regent of Ijede, High Chief Aliu Musediku, who led other Chiefs from Ijede, commissioned the Borehole project, thanked Comrade Matti for his magnanimity and urged the residents of Ojuyemora to maintain  the efficient of the borehole.
