IGBOGBO MONARCH CONFERS 'OGBENI-OJA' TITLE ON ALHAJI ADEKUNLE JINADU ESHO, SAYS HE HAD CONTRIBUTED IMMENSELY TO THE ECONOMIC DRIVE OF IKORODU DIVISION. You' have put a right peg in the right hole, Obateru of Egbin tells Adeboruwa of Igbogbo.

It was another historic moment in the history of Igbogbo Kingdom on Sunday, August 18, 2019, when His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr) AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogboland, amidst other Royal Heads from the Neighboring Communities, conferred a Chieftancy title on Alhaji (Prince) Adekunle Jinadu Esho, as the 1st OGBENI-OJA of Igbogbo Kingdom.

It was a royal host to several traditional rulers, Honorary Chiefs, Business Moguls, Industrialists, Educators, present and past top government functionaries, Council Chiefs, amongst others came to witness the installation of a philanthropist and a true industrialist.

Prince Adekunle Jinadu Esho, who also celebrates his 70th Birthday on the same day, was born into the family of Jinadu, Adeyoruwa descendant family compound of Itun-Moro area in Igbogbo, Lagos State, on 22nd of June, 1949. His parents were Alhaji Lasisi Jinadu popularly known as “Baba Ologun-Ebi” and Alhaja, Simbiat Alli-Osikoya Jinadu alias “Iya Esho Oje remain” both of whom are now deceased.

Chief Jin-Esho, as he's popularly called, joined Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) in 1973 and voluntarily retired from service in 1985. He became a major player in the importation of spare parts from foreign countries by establishing his business name as JIN-ESHO COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISES in 1977.
He is the first industrious indigenous Bread Baker by opening his first Bread Bakery in Igbogbo in 1981 tagged “JIN-ESHO BREAD” and has established more Bakeries in the nooks and crannies of Ikorodu Division of Lagos state.

In the expansion of his commercialize experiences; Jin-Esho invested in transportation in 1986 and also he is an expert in all kinds of life-fish. He became an integral part of the Bakers association of Nigeria, Ikorodu zone and at present, he is now the patron of the same association. He belongs to a number of social clubs which includes Pioneer Club, Igbogbo since 1969, Harmony Brothers Club, Ikorodu for almost 10 years too and executive member of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).

Speaking at the installation, the Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, High Chief Tajudeen Onasanya said Esho was being honored for all he did at his young age to lift the image of his community, local government area and the State. He stated that the array of Royal Heads who came to witness the event shows that Chief Jinadu Esho is a bridge builder and well accepted by the people wherever his business empire has taken him to.

Odofin further urged Chief Jinadu Esho to continue to be of good behavior and an enviable ambassador of Igbogbo Kingdom, adding that he should also help the youths of his area through empowerment.

In his royal speech, HRM Oba Richard Ogunsanya, Olubeshe of Ibeshe described the recipient as a very humble, philanthropist, who does not discriminate, “Here is a man who has absolute respect for his elders and the traditional rulers. This was one of the reasons that made Adeboruwa, myself and other traditional rulers here not to waste time to accompany him to be honored by his people , he is a good ambassador of Igbogbo Kingdom”, Olubeshe stated.

Immediately after the presentation of Certificate and pronunciation of title which was performed by HRM Oba (Barr) AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, the monarch said without any iota of doubt, that Chief Jinadu Esho has contributed immensely to the growth and development of Ikorodu Division. 

His Royal Majesties, Oba (Barr) AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba AbdulAkeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, Obateru of Egbin kingdom, Oba Richard Ogunsanya, Olubeshe of Ibesheland and Oniraye of Iraye Remo in Ogun State were all in attendance.

Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Comrade Olusesan Daini, Agbaakin of Ikorodu Kingdom, Otunba (Sir) Ayodele Elesho, Oluomo of Igbogbo, Hon Adebimpe Akinsola, Chief Sulaimon Ogidi, Dr Tunde Ogunlaja, Chief Olatunji Bakare, Chief Ihimire John, Mr Wale Obayomi, Alhaji Salisu Adebola, traditional Chiefs, league of Baales, Harmony Brothers Club of Ikorodu, Muslim and Christian leaders, CDAs, amongst others were in attendance.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland.
