IKORODU DIVISION YOUTH INITIATIVE MOVEMENT INAUGURATES BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBERS. | Shakiru Seidu It's an historical responsibility, Dr Fatai-Abatan says.

September 15, 2019, was a remarkable day for Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative Movement as members stormed Ikorodu  Town Hall to inaugurates Board of Trustees Members that will be making a sustainable decision for the movement.

A senior Lawyer and an indigene of Ikorodu, Barr. S.O.K Shillings, in his speech before swearing in the Board of Trustees said “I am honoured to stand here, in the midst of great great sons and daughter of Ikorodu Division, who preferred to be identified with young ones that are ready for Community building and good governance.

"Truly speaking, these are the men I call Pillars of Social Justice with undiluted reputation men and woman of valour, progressive Ć nd dogged fighter to right the Division wrongs. I sincerely appreciate God almighty who has made you come together," he said.

"In the annals of youth organisation, this is a new thing. I therefore implore you to manage the personal and commercial responsibilities. We also not be cosmetic and we must enjoin our youth to obtain certificates," he added.

Dr. Fatai Abiodun-Abatan, the newly elected Chairman, Board of Trustees in his acceptance speech, urged members to pay particular attention to the ideas they have crafted as their mission, vision and value statements, for this is what they will be held accountable for. 

He added that the movement is clearly an idea whose time has come especially at a period when Ikorodu Division continues to navigate through the waters of uncertainty and a misty and foggy political, economic and social atmosphere. "It's truly an historical responsibility," he said.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family. During the meeting held at Osugbo Abalaye Shrine , where Lantan family were asked to pay fine of almost One million naira worth of sacrifice because of Mr Shakiru Sanni's misconduct, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali , emphasized that Shakiru Sanni's removal as Olumale Eluku was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo
