COVID-19: IKORODU MONARCH SUSPENDS 'OSU FESTIVAL', SAYS HE'S ON THE SAME PAGE WITH REGULATIONS, POLICIES OF LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT.

In line with the Lagos State Government directives on how to combat the widespread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Nigeria, which has become a global health challenges, His Royal Majesty and Paramount Ruler in Ikorodu Division, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, on behalf of the people and traditional institutions of Ikorodu Kingdom has announced the indefinite suspension of the grand finale of 'Osu festival' 2020, schedules to hold on Saturday, March 28, 2020.

In a five paragraphs letter made available to MegaXpression Community News, the Monarch stated that the suspension is inevitable, considering the health measures initiated by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, to ban any public, social and religious gathering and to restrain physical contact with anybody.

According to him, "I hereby adhere with the regulations and policies of the Lagos State Government to consider safety first, and I pledge my total support to join the campaign to end Coronavirus in Ikorodu Division, Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole."

The Monarch added that other traditional rites attached to the 'Osu festival' will be performed in in-house accordingly.
