FATIU SALISU GIVES MUM A BEFITTING BURIAL, AS EMINENT PERSONALITIES STORM 8 DAYS FIDAU PRAYER IN IJEDE. We'll sure miss her, the children reveal.

Allihamdulilah was the word coming out from the Chairman, Ijede LCDA, Alhaji Fatiu Salisu's mouth on Sunday, March 15, 2020, when he gave a befitting burial to mum, Late Alhaja Wasilat Olayinka Salisu, the Iya Sunna of Ijede  Central Mosque, Ijede. The fidau prayer which held at the open ground of Alajede Palace, Ijede, witnessed the presence of Legislators, Local Council Chairmen, Top government functionaries, Captain of industries, business moguls, Islamic Scholars, amongst other eminent personalities from home and abroad.

Before her death, late Alhaja Wasilat, was a major distributor of Plastic materials from companies in Lagos to Ibadan most especially Ogunpa-Oyo, Gbagi market. She became one of the best distributor of plastics in the city of Ibadan in her prime and won series of awards as a distributor of plastic materials from the white men. She returned back to Ijede in the late 90's due to old age.

Late Wasilat Salisu became the Iya Sunna of Ijede on the 25th of September 2015 and also on that day was the opening ceremony of her mosque Mosadioluwa' at her residence in Ijede. Her given spirit was legendary. As a matter of fact before her demise, she had contributed to the Islamic society and mosques in Ijede and also distributes foodstuffs and money received from children during the Holy month of Ramadan.

She was a bridgde- builder and a veritable rallying point and asset to the entire extended family. A kind hearted and generous mother. Late Wasilat supported many Islamic education initiatives by sponsoring many members of her extended family to pursue Islamic and Western education. She was a good neighbor, a patient listener, great counselor, a deeply religious woman.

Late Wasilat was survived by MD WASCOD Ent, Mr Wasiu Salisu, CEO Mayotas Nig. Ltd, Mr Toafeek Toyin Salisu, Senior Health Officer at Lagos State government, Sukurat Olajumoke Salisu, Chairman Ijede LCDA, Alhaji Fatiu Jimoh Salisu and CEO Oba Nibasiri Furniture, Mr Shamsideen Olawale.

Member, House of Reps. and Chairman House Committee on Defence, Hon. Babajimi Adekoge Benson, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Nurudeen Saka-Sholaja, the Council Chairmen, Hon. Kamal Bashua of Lagos Island, Hon. Bankole of Eti-Osa, Bldr. Olusesan Daini of Igbogbo/Bayeku, Hon. Sofola of Kosofe, Hon. Prince Wasiu Agoro of Imota, Hon. Abduljelil Sulaimon of Alimosho and Hon. Adeola Adebisi Banjo of Ikorodu North, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, Engr. Lukman Erogbogbo, Otunba Ganiu Olusegun Abiru and Hon. Saheed Adefarasin Hassan were present at the Fidau. 

Others present are the grand Chief Imam, Ikorodu Division, Sheikh Olowooribi, Chief Imam Oriwu Centre Mosque Ikorodu, Sheikh Osoala, Chief Imams of Ijede, Igbogbo, Imota, Isiu, and Imams from different mosques across Ikorodu Division. Also, DG iCARE Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola, Hon Showemimo Kazeem, Shakiru Seidu Of MegaXpression Community Magazine, Oloris of Royal fathers, members of COWSO and many more dignitaries. 

While speaking with MegaXpression correspondent, Alhaji Fatiu  Salisu expressed profound appreciation to all that made the fidau prayer a reality and those who are unavoidably absent, for the love bestowed upon him and his family. "Gbogbo wa l'ama gb'eyin arugbo wa," he prayed.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
