FEDERAL LAWMAKER INSPECTS STATE OF ROADS IN IKORODU, LOBBIED FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCY ON REHABILITATION OF 1.7KM IGBE ROAD. ...says Contractor of Paul Palmer road will soon back to site.

Motorists and other road users of 1.7km Igbe road and Paul Palmer road, Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos, can finally have a sigh of relief as the lawmaker, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency, Hon Babajimi Adekoge Benson, on Saturday,  visited the two roads after long time of neglects, leaving the roads impassable for commuters.

Benson who was received by the leadership of the Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs, Igbogbo, comprises of Igbeyin Adun, Ifeoluwa, Otitoloju, Itedo Oluwa, Onolu, Igbe Progressive, Hilltop, Peaceland, and Odera CDAs, started the inspection process from Igbe junction down to Oreyo Grammar School junction Igbogbo.

He applauded the Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs for their selfless services toward community development. According to him, while speaking with MegaXpression correspondent, "so far so good, I am happy with what I am seeing today, the Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs have sincerely done well to make the 1.7km road memorable.

"Anywhere I see a CDA pulling their weight on Community development, I will always partner with them. Aside my financial and material contributions on Igbe road, I have also contacted a federal government agency and they are willing to come.

"They need to come and inspect and test the integrity of what the Joint CDAs have done till date. So let us hope that when they come, they'll find what they've done so far suitable to be able to build upon. This will no doubt compliment the good work and infrastructural development of Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State", he said.

Benson later visited the Paul Palmer road under Ifeoluwa CDA, which was discontinued recently. He said he had done what he did by presenting the Paul Palmer road for rehabilitation in the best interest of his constituents. "The Contractor has not been giving any amount on the road, he has been funding the project with his personal money. So, I have met and discussed with the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, who has assured that the federal Ministry of Works is perfecting necessary documents to effect payment for the Contractor to back to site," Hon. Benson revealed.

He therefore thanked the residents of Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs, assuring them of more quality representation and attracting more people-oriented projects for his constituents. He further appreciated Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for making Oba Molaja Ogunlewe road Igbogbo and Ireshe road Ikorodu smooth driving for the road users.

While responding on the road inspection, Engr. Kunle Oduborisha, a community leader and resident of Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs, lauded Hon. Benson's uncommon passion for community development, saying JB was called Friday night and surprisingly makes himself available the following morning. “I must sincerely commend Hon. Babajimi Benson for his efforts in ensuring the 1.7km Igbe Road is motorable," Oduborisha said.

“Residents of Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs, including commercial drivers have suffered a lot due to the dilapidated state of the road. The reconstruction of the road will surely alleviate the sufferings of the people plying the road," he added.
