CHOLERA: DAINI TAKES SENSITIZATION TO RESIDENTS OF IGBOGBO/BAYEKU LCDA. | Shakiru Seidu. ...Visits Schools, Markets, Wards, Others.

In an effort to safeguard the health and well-being of the good people of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, the Council Chairman, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, has embarked on an extensive Cholera Advocacy Awareness Campaign to the residents of his LCDA.

This initiative was said to educate and sensitize residents across the 5 Wards of the LCDA, targeting schools, markets, and communities at large.

Cholera, an acute diarrheal illness caused by infection of the intestine, remains a significant public health concern, particularly in regions with inadequate access to clean water and sanitation. Recognizing the critical need for proactive measures, the Administration of Daini has mobilized resources and expertise to combat the spread of this disease through comprehensive public education and awareness.

The Advocacy Awareness on Cholera is targeted at Public Education and Sensitization, Distribution of Hygiene kits, Collaboration with Health Professionals, Media and Communication. 

As part of the advocacy, the Chairman had earlier led his team personally, visited all government schools and markets across the LCDA. During these visits, they engaged directly with students, teachers, market vendors, and the community at large, emphasizing the importance of hygiene, clean water, and proper sanitation. These visits underscored the administration’s hands-on approach and commitment to combating cholera at the grassroots level.

“Our commitment to the health and safety of our community is very important. The Cholera Advocacy Awareness Campaign is a testament to our proactive approach in addressing public health challenges. By educating our residents, providing necessary resources, and fostering collaborations, we aim to create a healthier and more resilient Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA. Together, we can prevent cholera and protect our loved ones from its devastating effects.” Daini said. 

He further urged all residents to actively participate in the awareness programs and adhere to the preventive measures outlined during the sensitization. Stating that the cooperation of the people is crucial in ensuring the success of this initiative and safeguarding the health of our community.
