A National Assembly Member, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, MHR, has flagged off the construction work of Olu-Odo Road Igbogbo, which is targeted at easing the plight of residents and motorists in Olu-Odo, Adegbose, Igbo-Agbowa, Abuja and Lajo communities.
Benson, who's also the Chairman House Committee on Defence, said, at the flag off, that the road remain critical in the area. "This is a very unique road that connects many communities together, Olu-Odo, Adegbose, Igbo-Agbowa, Abuja and Lajo communities.
"This is part of my Constituency, being the reason I brought this project here to appreciate the people of the community where we have large number of people. We expect residents to take this project personal, monitor the work closely as their baby and report to us wherever they notice substandard materials for immediate action," the Lawmaker stated.
Benson, who's ably represented at the flag off, by the DG, iCARE Foundation, Mayor Muhydeen Sanwoola, further highlighted the transformative potential of the road, noting that the road will reposition the community as one of the most desirable residential areas in Lagos State.
Sanwoola later issued a clear warning against disruption from the youth during the construction, adding that the community must ensure that the Contractor work without any interference. "This road will feature dual drainages, streetlights, and a modern urban design. Let us unite for progress,” he pleaded.
The Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Daini, in his eloquent remarks, commended Rep Babajimi Benson's efforts in addressing the infrastructural challenges in Ikorodu federal Constituency, with over seventy roads completed to his credit. "This road is a strategic connection linking Olu-Odo to Igbo-Agbowa and parts of Lajo. It will be a game-changer,” Daini opined.
The Contractors also in their view emphasized the need for collaboration from the youth to ensure smooth progress. “We seek the community’s cooperation to avoid disruption, and be assured that this project will be delivered in no distance time," the Contractor’s representative said.
