JIMI BENSON AND HIS PRAGMATIC STEWARDSHIP IN IKORODU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY. | - Written by: Shakiru SEIDU.

When the turn of scrutiny in the political arena is in activation mode, performance is no doubt a yardstick to measure the capacity and capability of a public office holder. My focus this time around has been apprehended by the uncommon quality representation of a Lawmaker, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, at the National Assembly in Nigeria!

Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, an erudite Lawmaker, Chairman House Committee on Defence, the Otun-Oba of Ikorodu Division, husband of Madam Olajumoke and the political Son of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He came aboard with a zeal to make a significant difference and put smiles on the faces of the people, when it seems like no hope politically in Ikorodu Division. 
The heroic story of Rep. Babajimi Benson would forever remain in the brain of most generations. He is a man with salient great achievements, a Giver, people and community development oriented Leader. Jimi's ideology in life is to be good to all and help people, not minding wether he knows you or not. His progressive ideals over the years has endeared him closer to the downtrodden and indeed fetched him the overwhelmingly love from the grassroots.

Recently, Rep. Babajimi Benson, had consistently being in the news of every media houses, particularly MegaXpression News, due to his unprecedented quality representation of the people of Ikorodu federal Constituency and his vibrancy at the Green Chamber in Abuja, Nigeria.

Benson, a complete gentleman, has many unsung testimony of achievements in less than ten years of his stewardship, serving the people of Ikorodu Division. Glancing through some of his achievements, it is on record that the erudite Lawmaker has able to facilitate so many projects, some of which are:

80-Bed mother Care Hospital in Imota and the facilitation of Trauma Center at Ikorodu General Hospital. A Center that is aimed at helping victims of road crashes and emergency response services in Lagos State, and Ikorodu Division in particular.

Over 70 completed and commissioned Roads across Ikorodu federal Constituency as at December 2024. Blocks of Classrooms in most Schools across Ikorodu federal Constituency. Thousands of home Solar and Street lights erected at the major streets and religious houses and markets. Building of Town Hall in Ibeshe, Vocational Centre in Ijede, to mention but a few.
Meanwhile, another unique initiative of JB, that interested me more, is the iCare Foodbank, a nonprofit charitable organization that buys food and grocery products and redistributes the items in a bag called ‘APO AANU', to individuals and vulnerable families in needs across Ikorodu Division monthly. It has been established that over 60,000 Households had benefitted from this gesture in less than ten years of JB as a Representative.

Above all, the recent Mega Empowerment was the peak of it, where over 3,000 people benefited. The items shared included Mini Buses, Tricycles (Marwa), Solar Powered systems, Generators, Freezers, Gas Cylinders, Hair Dryers, industrial sewing machines, Grinding Machines, fully equipped Kiosk with Goods, vulcanising machines and many more.

I can only continue to go on and on, when it's comes to the great achievements of this humble and truly care Personality, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, on which he has gained my heart to fully support him in occupying the Next higher position in 2027.

It is also good to note that in December 2020, when the first Community Media Outlet in Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, MegaXpression Media, celebrated its 5th Year Anniversary, Rep. Babajimi Benson was honoured with the Award of 'BEST PERFORMING HOUSE OF REPS. MEMBER IN LAGOS STATE', for his outstanding achievements in the public service. 

It is however, important to keep in our diary that these unprecedented achievements have equally qualified JB to be celebrated again in our 10th Year Anniversary of MegaXpression Media, coming up in Y2025, with Guest Lecturer from the Presidency, Abuja.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
