REP. JIMI BENSON BEGINS CONSTRUCTION OF 2.5KM SELEWU/IRE ROAD PROJECT IN IGBOGBO. …Says road would be delivered in Six months with Solar powered Street lights.

House of Reps Member, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has flagged off the construction of the 2.5km Selewu/ Ire Road in Igbogbo, fulfilling his promise to the residents of the area.

The flag-off ceremony, held on Tuesday, marked the commencement of a key infrastructure project located in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA of Lagos State. Benson reaffirmed his commitment to the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reiterating his focus towards the enhancement of economic value of Ikorodu federal Constituency.

The erudite Lawmaker, who was ably represented by his Senior Aide, DG iCARE Foundation, Mayor Muhydeen Sanwoola, emphasised that the road, once completed, would link Selewu / Ire and Agunfoye communities together, improving accessibility and boosting economic activities in the axis

He urged the community to unite behind the project, stressing that construction progress would rely on a disruption-free process. “We will not tolerate obstructions," Sanwoola warned.

In his eloquent remarks, the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Daini, praised the transformative efforts of Rep. Babajimi Benson, noting that the Lawmaker is a symbol of development in Ikorodu Division. “This Selewu road is a reflection of Selewu’s electoral value and strategic importance to the economy of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA," the Council Chairman opined.

Daini used the opportunity to educate the public on the broader economic implications of the project, crediting President Bola Tinubu’s tax reforms and subsidy removal policies for the increased financial allocation that made such developments possible. He encouraged residents to support Tinubu’s administration, highlighting the positive ripple effects of bold reforms.

The Chairman, Selewu Estate Central Working Committee (SECWOC), Comrade Oyewosakin, in his remarks commended Benson for fulfilling his promise, describing the Lawmaker as 'Okikiola', a man of honor. “Today, the promise made two years ago has come to reality. Selewu is finally relieved of years of pain, and for that, we are deeply grateful to Rep. Babajimi Benson,” Oyewosakin said.

Also, the APC Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Hon. Taiwo Orenuga, Member, Lagos Seventh Assembly and former Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, the Baale of Selewu, Chief Solebo Olugbode, and the CDC Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, were all expressed their delight over the project. They described Benson’s efforts as “legendary” and urged the youth to embrace this transformative development brought to their doorsteps.

In his royal remarks, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, who was ably represented by Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, also applauded Jimi Benson’s commitment to development. He urged residents to take ownership of the road project and ensure its smooth delivery.
