AROYEWUN SETS TARGET ON PROSPEROUS GOVERNANCE AS IGBOGBO/BAYEKU LCDA BEGINS BUDGET RETREAT. ...Says 2026 Budget is envisioned to reflect collective aspirations.


The Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, has reiterated his commitment to ensure that the 2026 Budget truly reflects the needs and priorities of the residents of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, emphasizing that public office is meaningful only when it delivers real impact.

Aroyewun made this known on Thursday, December 4, 2025, while delivering his welcome address at the Council’s Two-day retreat on the 2026 Budget, tagged “Budget of Inclusive Prosperity” for year 2026. The retreat aims to deepen understanding of the LCDA’s fiscal direction and strengthen good governance.

"This 2026 budget is envisioned to reflect collective aspirations, promote shared prosperity, and consolidate ongoing efforts to build a more inclusive and economically vibrant in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA," Aroyewun stated.

At Thursday's session, members of the Legislative Arm joined the Executive and Management Staff of to brainstorm and strategise on the council's fiscal guide for 2026. The Council National Union Of Local Government Employees (NULGE), also played significant roles in the session. Also, a team of financial experts gave a practical training to the Council officials.

This year’s retreat places strong emphasis on designing a holistic and equitable financial framework that guarantees every resident, regardless of status, background, or community, to enjoys the dividends of good governance and the benefits of IBLCDA’s developmental agenda. Residents are assured of a visionary and people-focused fiscal direction in 2026 as deliberations at the retreat are centered around critical pillars of growth, including:

- Strengthening community-driven development initiatives
- Enhancing revenue generation through innovative and citizen-friendly mechanisms
- Expanding social welfare and empowerment programmes
- Prioritizing infrastructure, healthcare, education, and youth development projects
- Deepening transparency, accountability, and responsible fiscal management

As deliberations continue, the administration promised to remain committed to delivering a fiscal blueprint that ensures sustainable development and leaves no segment of the population behind.

A new Chief Imam for the Igbogbo Central Mosque has been installed. He is Fadeelat Imam Abdulganiu Gazali , who was turbaned on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, as Chief Imam of Igbogbo Central Mosque and Grand Chief Imam Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA.
