It was all glitz and glamour in Ibeshe on Saturday, December 20, 2025, when the Community ends its maiden Ibeshe Day festival in grand style. The venue, Kit & Kin International Schools playing ground was filled to capacity with people of high profile personalities and Indigenes of the community in attendance.
Clubs, Associations, and Political Groups at the venue had enough space to sit while guests were also comfortably accommodated. Music was blaring from within the canopies leading to a cacophony of sounds.
While addressing the gathering, the Asiwaju of Ibesheland, Asiwaju Kaoli Olatunji Olusanya, welcomed all, and congratulated the Olubeshe of Ibesheland, HRM Oba Richard Abayomi Ogunsanya, Bisoro 1, on the 1st Ibeshe Day festival, noting that the King is a royal colossus, who has remained consistently consistent in the progress and development of Ibesheland.
"I welcome you all, and enjoin you to continue giving Kabiyesi, the needed collaborative support and cooperation to foster economic prosperity for the upliftment and development of Ibeshe Kingdom," Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya opined.
Also, Ms Ruth Bisola Olusanya, Commissioner for Agric, Lagos State, congratulated the Olubeshe of Ibeshe, while acknowledging his leadership quality, stating that the Ibeshe Day festival will be a rallying point for all Ibeshe indigene to pay homage to the Olubeshe and collectively share thoughts on how to take Ibesheland to the next level of social and infrastructural development.
She further commended members of IKIDAS and the Organisers of this first edition, for the successful celebrations, noting that the festival have will now become a global tourist attraction in showcasing the cooperation and collaborative tendencies of the rich Yoruba culture.
Shortly after Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, the Executive Chairman Igbogbo Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, Member Lagos 10th Assembly, and some royal fathers expressed their enthusiasm over the successful staging of this maiden edition, His Royal Majesty, Oba Richard Abayomi Ogunsanya, Olubeshe of Ibeshe, appreciated all and revealed how he was impressed with this year's maiden edition. He enjoined people at the helm of affairs to consider Ibeshe Community in the scheme of development.
The monarch further thanked the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his good work in Lagos State, while appealing passionately for more infrastructural development in Ibesheland.
“We shall continue to witness peace, progress and development in Ibeshe, Ikorodu Division and Lagos State in particular," Oba Ogunsanya prayed.
Thereafter, the Planning Committee Chairman gave a warm vote of thanks, before everybody took to the dancing floor. The event was anchored by a distinguished personality from Agboyi-Ketu, Omo'ba Ladega.
