A DECADE OF LEGACY: OBA SEMIUDEEN ORIMADEGUN KASALI INAUGURATES 10TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE. ...As Aremo Adesegun Ogunlewe's led C’tee Unveils Activities To Mark Monarch’s historic Programme In Igbogbo Kingdom.


A 25-Man Planning Committee for the 10th Coronation Anniversary of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade I, has unveiled programme of events to mark the monarch’s Ten Years on the throne.

The 10th Year Anniversary is expected to attract top dignitaries and traditional rulers, community leaders, religious Leaders and well-wishers from across Nigeria and beyond, as the people of Igbogbo gather to honor a decade of impactful leadership by HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom.

Oba Kasali, who is the 8th Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom since 1900, ascended the throne on July 25, 2016. The Coronation Anniversary Planning Committee is headed by Aremo Adesegun Ogunlewe, a former Head of Service, Lagos State.

Other Members of the Committee, set up to oversee the planning for the historic 10th Year Anniversary include, Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, Chief Jelili Oduntan, Balogun of Igbogbo, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, Vice Chairman Planning Committee, Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, Chairman Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Otunba Olusesan Daini, Immediate past Council Chairman, Alhaji Shakiru Odusanya, Prince Waheed Kasali, PS Ministry of Education, Tpl Adebisi Ogunlewe, Alhaji Tairu Olawale Amusa, CEO Homat Group of Companies, and Chief (Mrs) Olamide Ogunlaja, Iyalaje of Igbogbo Kingdom.

Also, Chief (Mrs) Ashake Wahab, Iyaloja General, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Chief Kamoru Disu, Babaloja of Igbogbo Kingdom, Engr. Lateef Oduntan, Secretary IDEA, Mr Babatunde Afuwape, Engr. Femi Kalejaiye, Alhaji Ganiu Oduntan, Alhaji Chief Ganiu Olubodun, Prophet Babatunde Fashola, Alhaji Sheriff Jinodu, Dr. Nosiru Andu-Balogun, Alhaji Chief Sulaimon Ayokunle, Engr. Monsuru Hassan, Dr. Oluwole Ogunyemi, and Dr. Adeleke Dankuwo.

Addressing the gathering, the Planning Committee Chairman, Aremo Adesegun Ogunlewe, said that the 10th Coronation Anniversary celebrations will hold between 19th July and 25th July, 2026.

2. Thanksgiving prayers (Church, Mosque & Traditional Institution)
3. Notification of Various Stakeholders (Government, Political Class, Dignitaries, Traditional Institutions etc)
4. Formal invitation: Special Invite
5. Foundation/Legacy Project/Public Lecture/Compendium of Developmental Activities(roads, health, education-Scholarships, security etc)
6. Conferment of Honorary Chieftancy Titles (Otunba) to Eminent Personalities/selected individuals from Royal Families in Igbogbo.
7. Games: Novelty match, ayo, table tennis, draft game etc
8. Visit to Orphanage homes/Palliatives to the Vulnerable
9. Homages by different Groups (Traditional Institutions, CDC, CDAs, Market men & women)
10. Medical Outreach
11. Grand Finale

The Committee Chairman also mentioned Oba Kasali's achievements in the last ten year on the throne. “In the last ten years, Kabiyesi has brought honours to Igbogbo Kingdom. He also added that the intervention of Oba Kasali in maintaining peace in Igbogboland in the last ten year has been very noticeable.

Aremo Adesegun further described the 10th Year Anniversary Celebration as historic and symbolic, acknowledging the efforts of the town’s founders while encouraging the current generation to preserve their legacy.

“Even though our forefathers are no longer here, we, the beneficiaries of their vision, must ensure that their sacrifices are honoured. May it be well with our community,” he prayed, while urging the Committee and Sub-Committee Members, to carry out their duties diligently to ensure a successful anniversary.

Earlier, the Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, pleaded passionately with the Committee members to embrace unity and focus towards actualizing a befitting 10th Year Anniversary, noting that the past crisis in Igbogbo has hindered our speed of development.

Odofin further appealed to the Committee Chairman, Aremo Adesegun Ogunlewe, and other members of the Committee, to take advantage of the given responsibility to showcase the good name of Igbogbo Kingdom to the world. 

In his eloquent remarks, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, thanked members of the Planning Committee for their ready-to-serve attitude. He prayed for their success, and enjoined them to love one another.

The Monarch also appealed to Igbogbo sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora that have the wherewithall to come together and uplift Igbogbo Community, adding that it is also one solid way to develop Igbogbo Kingdom.
