AROYEWUN INSPECTS ONGOING MULTIPLE FACILITATED PROJECTS BY REP. BABAJIMI BENSON. ...Commends JB's impactful representation in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.
The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, was on Wednesday, January 14, 2025, embarked on an extensive inspection tour of the ongoing multiple infrastructural projects, facilitated by the Chairman, House Committee on Defence, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, across the LCDA.
Aroyewun assessed the pace of work, and also evaluate the contractor's adherence to projects specifications. Amongst the facilitated multiple projects of Rep Benson, inspected include:
• Ilemire Road, Ibeshe (Ward C4): Ongoing construction with standard drainage systems and streetlights.
• Olu-Odo Road Ward C1): Linking Lasori-Abuja, Igbo-agbowa and Lajo community, enhancing accessibility within the communities.
•Idi-Oro Road (Ward C4): Linking Abule Oshorun to Ilemire, aimed at upgrading local road infrastructure.
• Offin/Oreta Road (Ward C3): 13 km, connecting over 50 neighbouring communities, addressing flood control and improving mobility for residents, traders, and farmers.
• Morekete Road, Ward C3: Newly approved road, scheduled for commencement soon.
• Selewu Link Road (Ward C3): Newly approved project linking Selewu to Ire, focusing on improved access and flood control.
• Salvation Army Primary School, Agunfoye: Six-classroom block under construction to enhance learning environment.
• Federal Medical Centre (upcoming): Planned major healthcare facility in IBLCDA, expected to start soon.
• NIN Enrollment Machines: Provided by JB to facilitate smoother access to National Identification registration across the LCDA.
The inspection underscored the visible impact of federal interventions facilitated by Rep. Babajimi Benson, the LCDA’s commitment to community development, and the growing collaboration between the government, communities, and youth organizations to ensure that development is inclusive, sustainable, and transformative.
Aroyewun, while responding to MegaXpression Correspondence, commended Rep. Babajimi Benson for the progress recorded so far on the multiple projects, while reiterating his dedication and commitment to the grassroots development in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.
The Chairman noted that the scale of visible, ongoing projects facilitated by Rep. Babajimi Benson, speaks louder than promises. The Chairman also revealed that preparations are underway for a Federal Medical Centre in Igbogbo/Baiyeku, another major intervention expected to commence soon.
Aroyewun further used the opportunity to encourage the eligible citizens to register with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the ongoing APC Party Registration Exercise, highlighting JB’s facilitation of NIN enrollment machines.
The inspection also drew a broad coalition of stakeholders, including development strategist, Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola; Director-General iCare Foundation; community and traditional leaders, High Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo, Chief Ramoni Yusuf; Baale of Oreta; and other notable political leaders including Alhaji Olawale Abdullahi.
Key members of the Community Development Council (CDC), including Alh. Rasak Ibiyeye; CDC Chairman, Hon. Yaya Ogunsowo; CDC Secretary, Pastor Ogunrinde Samson; CDC Zone 1 Leader, Alh. Mukthar; CDC Zone 7 leader, among other members also actively engaged the council leadership during the tours. The broad engagement reflects top-level collaboration in reinvigorating leadership.
Aside the Council Chairman, Barr. Ade Ayeni; Vice Chairman IBLCDA, Leader of the Council 's legislative Arm, Hon. Basirat Adetutu Banjoko, Deputy Leader, Hon. Hakeem Solawon, Majority Leader, Hon. Habib Anifowose, Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Yusuf Bello, Chief Whip, Hon. Saidat Adeoba, Chief of Staff, Hon. Wasiu Olowu, and Mr. Tunde Okusanya, Revenue Chairman, and Hon. Mathew Kolawole Arowolo were all took full active part in the tours.
Youth participation was strong as representatives from youth organizations such as Dr Adeleke Dankuwo, President of the Igbogbo Youth Forum, members of the Igbogbo Student Union, officers of Ibeshe Youths and other youth groups played crucial role in the strategic tours. Their activ e involvement highlights the investment of the younger generation in community development and governance oversight.
Security and technical stakeholders were also actively involved, including personnel from the Local Joint Task Force. Similarly, representatives from JRB Construction Company Ltd. and Laralek Contractors, site engineers, project supervisors, and members of the iCare Foundation graced the tours with their significant presence.
Response from residents featured deep appreciation to both Rep. Babajimi Benson and Omo'ba Hammed Aroyewun. The residents not only highlighted the progress seen in road infrastructure, education infrastructure and renewed improvements in medical infrastructure, they also feel exceedingly gratified with the responsive leadership and improved governance being experienced at the council level, state level and the country, as a whole.
