JOY AS REP. JIMI BENSON FLAGS OFF CONSTRUCTION OF 3.3KM MOWO-NLA/EWU-OWA ROAD IN IKORODU. ...Reaffirms commitment to delivering more impactful projects that'll improve lives of Constituents.
The residents of Mowo-nla, Bagidan, Igbodu, Jajo, Shonle, Magbon and Ewu-owa Communities, were excited on Saturday, January 24, 2026, when the Chairman House Committee on Defence, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, flagged off 3.3km road project to enhance rural infrastructure.
Most delighted by the flagged off was the Baale of Mowo-nla, Chief Sunday Ayodele Ogunsami, who was delighted with the kind gesture by Rep. Benson, noting that the past experience was unimaginable on a daily basis, following the terrible condition of the road.

“I want sincerely thank our proud Ambassador, Rep. Babajimi Benson, for his tiredless efforts in ensuring Ikorodu turns to mega city," the Community head opined, noting that this symbolic gesture was a heartfelt expression of gratitude for Benson's efforts in securing the road project.
In his eloquent address, the erudite Lawmaker, Rep. Babajimi Benson, thanked the people of Mowonla and other benefitted communities, while reaffirmed his commitment to delivering more impactful projects that'll improve the lives of his Constituents. Adding that their votes had being the second best in the history of voting for the Progressive in Ikorodu Division.
Benson further stated that the Mowo-nla/Ewu-owa road project would boost the economy of Lagos State, adding that the road was strategic for many strategic projects. He urged residents to be patient and cooperate with the contractors as the construction as the construction would be completed in May 2026.
In his goodwill message, the State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Adeola Jokomba commended Rep. Babajimi Benson for keeping to its promise, saying JB has done unimaginable.
“The effect of this road construction would be immense and the benefits immeasurable. Certainly, the effect of the entire process beginning from the construction phase to the completion and use of this critical infrastructure would be of direct benefit to all," Jokomba said.
Jokomba also charged the communities to ensure that they register in the ongoing APC E-Registration, noting that voting APC in 2027 would be the only way to pay back to the good work of Rep. Babajimi Benson.
The ceremony also reflected the community’s rich customs and traditions of Mowonla Community, with the presentation of the Egungun, Asa, and Apepe displays. The event also brought together a diverse assembly of leaders, stakeholders, and community members, all united in celebrating this milestone.
