ENCOMIUMS AS ALHAJA ABIODUN OGUNNIYI CELEBRATES 65TH BIRTHDAY IN STYLE.


It was encomium galore at the Elepe Royal Estate, Aga, Ikorodu, Lagos, when an Apex APC Member, Ikorodu Division, and former Principal, Oriwu Model College Ikorodu, Alhaja Abiodun Sherifat Ogunniyi took the stage to celebrate her 65th Birthday on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Every speaker and those who delivered goodwill messages, took time out to eulogise the starling qualities of a former Principal and well connected personality.

Speaking at the event as the Special Guest of honour, the Agbaakin of Ikorodu Kingdom and former Commissioner for Information, Otunba (Sir) Ayodele Elesho, described the celebrant, Alhaja Ogunniyi as an extraordinary and uncommon woman, saying that the event had given him the long-desired opportunity to appreciate her immense contributions to Ikorodu Division and Lagos State in particular.

“Alhaja Abiodun Ogunniyi’s journey from her early days as a teacher till today is worth commending. It is noteworthy that, during her days as Principal of Oriwu Model College, she enhanced educational standard for the Students of the School, programmes that can transformed the lives of many. These and more cannot be taken for granted.

In the same vein, the former Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. S.O.B Agunbiade said Alhaja Ogunniyi has displayed exemplary leadership qualities, fostered unity and promoted hard work, committed to principles of accountability and good administrator.

“On this occasion of her 65th Birthday, I stand boldly to congratulate Alhaja Ogunniyi and wish her warmest birthday”, the Opomulero of Ikorodu said.

In her eloquent remarks, the former Ag. Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture and member Lagos Seventh Assembly, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, also admired the resilience of Alhaja Abiodun Ogunniyi on civil and public services.

Other former and present School Heads in attendance equally expressed appreciation to Alhaja Ogunniyi for making Ikorodu proud, which is evidenced in her award as the  best Principal in Nigeria.

In her response, the celebrant, Alhaja Abiodun Ogunniyi, thanked God for making heaven to rejoice on his birthday. She thanked all her guests and the people of Ikorodu Division and Education District of the State, for the love bestowed upon her during and after her career as a teacher and administrator. She further expressed deep appreciation to her children and other members of her family.
