The Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Ikorodu Constituency 1, Hon SOB Agunbiade, on Wednesday, 14th of February, 2018 flagged-off a special healthcare package for over 1000 patients from his constituency. MegaXpression Magazine reports that the medical outreach is funded by Hon. SOB Agunbiade in collaboration with the Betta Health who provided the medical officers.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, in a brief speech to flag off the exercise in his Palace, said that the recent economic downturn had made it difficult for poor people to access quality health care services. He therefore applauded Hon. SOB Agunbiade for the uncommon initiative and urged all women to register with INEC and get themselves prepared for the coming election.
Hon SOB Agunbiade, in his short remarks expressed satisfaction with the beneficiaries and performance of the medics and expressed optimism that the intervention programme would meet its target.
Earlier, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, former SSG Lagos State, had commended Hon SOB Agunbiade for emulating the good gesture of the Federal Government and assured residents of Ikorodu Constituency 1 of more better things to come through Hon Agunbiade.
Basorun, however, urged those that are aspiring for political offices in Ikorodu Division not to be discouraged if their prayers are not answered now. He further urged government at the center to be watchful of those carrying guns and not to narrow their efforts on Fulanis. On a final note, Basorun described Hon SOB Agunbiade as a courageous person and enjoined all to support him.
In her eloquent remark, another former SSG to Lagos State Government, Princess Adenrele Ogunsanya, applauded the Majority Leader, Hon Agunbiade, for the gesture and commended the medical team’s commitment to quality service delivery.
Among services that'll be rendered include major and minor surgical operations, medical investigations and treatments, eye care, paediatric and gynaecological care, among others. The patients will also have access to any health provider in an emergency situation, access to over 200 private Hospitals in Lagos State and quick time value for accessing healthcare service.
