JUBILATION AS SEKUMADE OF IPAKODO, OBA BASHIR AREMU SOTONWA COMES OUT OF IPEBI. | Shakiru Seidu.

The traditional township of Ipakodo in Ikorodu West LCDA of Lagos State, came alive on Sunday, 25th of February, 2018, as the new Monarch, HRM Oba (Engr.) Bashir Aremu Sotonwa came out of Ipebi, the spiritual seclusion rites, where he has been for 9 days.

The programme which was covered by MegaXpression Magazine saw the members of the Royal family as well as Kingmakers welcomed the king as he was presented with the ancient Crown.

The new Sekumade of Ipakodo, Oba Sotonwa was dressed in traditional attire, and acknowledged cheers from the crowd, which had gathered to felicitate with the new monarch. He was later brought to Palace after observing rituals from the key areas of the community.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family. During the meeting held at Osugbo Abalaye Shrine , where Lantan family were asked to pay fine of almost One million naira worth of sacrifice because of Mr Shakiru Sanni's misconduct, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali , emphasized that Shakiru Sanni's removal as Olumale Eluku was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo
