ENCOMIUM AS SANWO-OLU APPOINTS TOYIN GAFAAR BOLOWOTAN AS DG, LAGOS STATE SPORTS COMMISSION. | Shakiru Seidu. Jimi Benson, Agunbiade, Sholaja, Akinsola, Ibikunle, others, felicitate with the new DG. "It's a reward of hardwork", says Kali Olusanya.

Lagos state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday appointed Prince Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan as the new Director General of the Lagos state Sports Commission. This followed the disengagement of the former DG, Babatunde Bank Anthony and appointed Bolowotan as the new DG. 

In a statement signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri Okunola, "the appointment is in line with the ongoing  re-organisation of the State Public Service for efficient service delivery. The appointment is with immediate effect".

Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan, a graduate of Economics from Ahmadu Bello University is a brand expert and sports enthusiast. He sits on the board of Prime Signs. He is the founder and Chairman of Bolowotan Football Club, a top Nigerian side that got promoted to the Nigerian National League.
Bolowotan was the Director of Sports at the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Independent Campaign Group (BOS ICG) during the 2019 elections.

Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) was created from the defunct Office of Sports in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development (MYSSD) and Lagos State Sports Council by the last administration in the state.

Since the appointment of Toyin Gafaar, Party leaders across Ikorodu Division have been showering different encomium, rejoicing with the new DG.
