IGBOGBO MONARCH CONSTITUTES NEW LEADERSHIP FOR I.D.E.A, AS DR. OGUNLAJA, HON AKINSOLA SWORN-IN AS PRESIDENT, VICE. | Shakiru Seidu. "It's a call to Serve," the King charges the new Exco.

It's a long awaited time that the good people of Igbogbo had anticipated to unfold, which guaranteed enhancement of rapid development and growth of the community. Igbogbo, a community of people with prestigious social life and a breeding ground for intellectuals, academicians and technocrats, who are serving in their optimum capacity in governance, commerce, education, industry and all endeavours of life.

Sunday, June 16, 2019, an history was again recorded, when His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr) AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo land, Sworn-in fresh 16 selected professionals from various fields, to lead the affairs of Igbogbo Development Association, I.D.E.A, for the next 2 years. The King dissolved the 20 years old Executive and swears-in the new one.

The newly sworn-in Executive includes:

1. Dr Omotunde Ogunlaja. -President
2. Hon (Chief) Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola. -Vice President.
3. Engineer Lateef Oduntan. -Gen. Secretary.
4. Mr Waheed Kasali. -Asst. Secretary
5. Alhaji Ganiu Oduntan. -Financial Sec.
6. Alhaji Surajudeen Kajola. -Treasurer.
7. Mr Hamed Aroyewun. -Publicity Sec.
8. Mrs Aminat Amusa Adebayo. -Legal Adviser.
9. Chief Mukaila Onabanjo. -Welfare Officer.
10. Mr Ahmed Solanke. -Social Sec.
11. Mrs Wonuola Anibaba. -Ex Officio.
12. Mr Morayo Abiru. -Ex Officio.
13. Alhaji Olubodun Ganiu. -Member
14. Pastor Joshua Akinola. -CAN Rep.
15. Chief Olusola Olugbode. Palace Rep.
16. Elder M.A.Olowu. -Chairman CDC

Also sworn-in same day were the 12-man planning committee for Igbogbo Day, till year 2020. The names are:

In his eloquent remarks, Oba Kasali enjoined the new executive to bring on board genuine ideas and work together for the unity and progress of Igbogbo. He tasked the newly sworn-in Executive to be guided by the spirit of oneness, and ensure they facilitate rapid growth and development to Igbogbo community. "The new Exco has emerged, and it is time to showcase your ability. Your respective positions is a call to serve", the King said.

"My heart bleeds when I see some youths with negative thoughts about Igbogbo. The youth needs to reawakening their mindset towards the growth and development process of Igbogbo land", the King added.

He therefore, considered it necessary to encourage the youths to sustain level of development consciousness and join the progressive to ensure that Igbogbo is rekindle by being represented by quality representatives at all level of structures and individual that would bring growth and development to the door step of its people.

The Asiwaju of Igbogbo land, Chief Olorunfunmi Basorun, gladly stated after the inauguration that the new Exco should work in unison with Kabiyesi and other leaders to ensure that the goal of a stronger IDEA and a better community was achieved. He reiterated his efforts and contributions towards the development of Igbogbo and urged the new Exco to follow suite.

High Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo, reinstated in his remarks that he's committed to the growth and progress of Igbogbo community. He urged all and indeed the community leaders to guard jealously the image of Igbogbo land. He applauded the choice of Dr. Ogunlaja, Hon Adebimpe Akinsola, and thanked them for their unique display. He further sued for smooth collaboration among the executive and not to be overshadowed by positions.

The attendance at the Palace include Chief Olatunji Odusanya mni, Chief Adenrele Olowu, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Comrade Olusesan Daini, former H.O.S, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, CEO Homat Group of Schools, Alhaji Olawale Amusa, Chief Olatunji Bakare, Chief Adenrele Olowu, Imam Dhikirulahi Tanimose Andu, High Chiefs, League of Baales, amongst others.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland.
