WASIU OLOWU, COUNCILLOR OF WARD C2 GIVES FREE MEDICAL SERVICES TO PEOPLE OF IGBOGBO/BAYEKU LCDA. | Shakiru Seidu.
Lawmaker, representing Ward C2 of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Lagos State, Hon. Wasiu Olowu has again provided free medical services and items to over 200 people of his area. Olowu who is the majority leader of the legislative Arm of the Council displayed this during the second edition of free health initiatives at Adeboruwa Palace, Igbogbo.
The medical services were provided for people free of charge especially the indigents ones in the area. While addressing the audience, Hon Olowu said that medical services provided was part of welfare package he promised the people during his electioneering campaign.
Speaking during the outreach, Olowu said he was moved to embark on the exercise in order to help the poor people in his council area who might not be able to access quality health care.
Olowu said to MegaXpression Community Magazine that: “This exercise is a way of empowering the people of my Ward, if my people are healthy, they will live productive and vital lives. My People needs to be strong and healthy, that is why I have embarked on this mission.
“You can see the magnitude of people here; I’m doing this out of the little I have because I believe so much in my people and they should not suffer in all aspects of life.
“We have given drugs to those that have high Blood Pressure to suppress it. We did malaria test and distributed drugs to those having malaria and diabetes. Our Medical team has also advised them on what they eat and what they should not."
He further applauded the collaboration of Milecent Foundation and Not too young Initiative, headed by Mr Samson Bisiriyu, for their supports and passion towards healthy living. "They are the brain behind this edition", he added.
Olowu also thanked the members of his Political Family (OWAPOF), his political leaders present, Hon Adebimpe Akinsola, Chief Mrs Olowu, Hon Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa, Vice Chairman SLG Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Mr Titilola Adegboyega and Barr Hadey Ayeni, Hon Nurudeen Alimi, Dr Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, Madam Bisi Bello, amongst other notable dignitries.
"I thanked all who have made an additional efforts and devoted their precious time to share today with us", he added.
