IKODASS SWEARS-IN NEW EXECUTIVE, AS OTUNBA GANIYU OLUSEGUN ABIRU, OTHERS, TAKE FRESH RESPONSIBILITIES. | Shakiru Seidu. "We will improve on what we have done in the last two years," Abiru reveals.

Sunday, June 16, 2019, was another memorable day in the history of Ikorodu, as the Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) sworn-in another Executive, at the prestigious Ikorodu Town Hall Ikorodu. Olola Olusegun Iluyombo, who stood on behalf of Mr Lemmy Anibaba, the electoral Chairman, supervised the peaceful conduct of the Swearing-in ceremony.

Immediately after the outgoing Exco under the leadership of Otunba Olusegun Abiru, who gave a good account of the previous records, the newly elected Executive were ushered in to mount the podium one after the other for the Swearing-in ceremony. The former Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Otunba Ganiu Olusegun Abiru, Deputy and Vice were the first to be Sworn-in as the new IKODASS Chairman for the next two years.

In his eloquent speech, he promised to ensure a productive dialogue with all the Clubs, amendment of the defects in the Association's Constitution. He also promised to engage professionals in running the affairs of IKODASS to enhance rapid growth and development of Ikorodu Division.

According to him, "We will improve on what we have done in the last two years to evolve new things that would further endear the Association to all and sundry."

Abiru appeald to cultists to sheath their swords and embrace peace as the path they are treading ill take them to nowhere but sorrows and prescriptions. He said the Police, Onyabo and Ikorodu Monarch can not do it alone without the support of all.

Abiru also enjoined the current Administration in Lagos State never to neglect Ikorodu Division again in the scheme of development. "Nothing in Ikorodu shows the presence of Government while other Divisions are witnessing tremendously infrastructural develooments, Ikorodu remains neglected despite our massive population which is over three million people.

"Our schools are all in ignoble condition state of disrepair, inadequacy of hospitals to take care of our population while our roads are the worst in the entire Divisions of the State."

Abiru therefore call on the present Administration to address the situation. "As a body charged with the responsibility of ensuring ccelerated developments of the kingdom, we call on the present government to infrastructurally transform Ikorodu Division and remember its indigenes in the State political appointment," he added.

On his final note, Abiru thanked His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr) Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, Ayangburen of Ikorodu, and all the people of Ikorodu for their support nd wish to put on record that IKODASS Executives will serve diligently with fear of God and with every sense of responsibility and accountability.
