The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, prominent traditional rulers in Ikorodu Division, Party Chieftains, amongst Others, heaped praises on the Chairman House Committee on Defence, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, over the commissioning of Lambo Lasunwon Road, opposite LASUTECH, Ikorodu, Lagos. The Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, was on Monday, commissioned the road, which was facilitated by Rep Babajimi Benson MHR.

Speaking on the newly commissioned road, the Eweye of Isiu Kingdom, HRM Oba Kayode Raji, said the delivery of the project and many other projects embarked upon by Rep. Jimi Benson during his reign as an Oba, had confirmed that Benson is indeed passionate about the well-being of his people.

The monarch said Benson deserved to be commended for the massive developmental projects and other initiatives aimed at making life simpler, easier and better for the people of Ikorodu Division.

Another monarch, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, said the completion of Lambo Lasunwon road was a great achievement, adding that Benson has proven himself to be a unique representative and a great achiever who is passionately committed to the development of Ikorodu Division and Lagos State at large.

Also, the APC Chairman in Ikorodu Division, Hon. Olasunkanmi Tijani, said Lambo Lasunwon road project was a confirmation that the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Lagos State under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was really concerned about the people and infrastructural transformation.

On his part, the Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Adeola Adebisi Banjo, said the completion of Lambo Lasunwon road, confirmed the genuine intention of Rep. Babajimi Benson to transform his federal Constituency.

Banjo expressed optimism that the Lambo Lasunwon Road would go a long way to reduce the traffic gridlock in front of LASUTECH and other adjoining routes. The Chairman further highlighted the importance of the newly inaugurated Lambo Lasunwon Road, noting that it had been a lifeline for residents for over three decades, especially during the rainy season when poor conditions often disrupted daily life.

In the same vein, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, commended Rep. Babajimi Benson, for his unprecedented achievements in Ikorodu Division. He touched on the progress Lagos has made on infrastructure, highlighting that out of the State’s 9,189 roads, approximately 69 percent are tarred. 

Hamzat therefore, reassured the public that Lagos State government is focused on constructing durable roads, comparing the country’s current challenges to a patient undergoing surgery, promising that the pain will eventually lead to a stronger nation
