MARKET STREET IGBOGBO RENAMED AFTER COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, BUILDER OLUSESAN DAINI. | Shakiru Seidu. ...As Legislative Arm reiterates Daini's performance in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA as Excellent.

The Legislative Arm of Government in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA of Lagos State has renamed the Market Road that is easing the traffic congestion at Obafemi Awolowo/ Bayeku Road, after the Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini.

The Councillors made this known during a session at the Hallow Chamber in the newly built Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun building, located in the Council Secretariat. Adding that Daini's legacy needs to be immortalized.

The Leader of the House, Hon. Nurudeen Alowonle Alimi, during the session praised the Council Chairman, Builder Olusesan Daini, for his exceptional leadership and quality service delivery in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, noting that Daini is the brain behind the LCDA’s rebuilding and re-architecture initiative, through the legislative collaboration with the great ideas.

Alimi commended Daini’s dedication, hardwork, and passion for the LCDA, emphasizing that his efforts have been recognized and legitimized by both the legislative and traditional councils in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. He charged other coming leaders to emulate Daini’s exemplary qualities, by ensuring more brighter future for Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.

In his remarks, the Councillor representing Ward C2, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Hakeem Sholawon, gave a brief history of the road which was presented at the floor of the house. He applauded Daini’s outstanding contributions to Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, while appealing for the market street to be renamed in his honor. “I’m very familiar with that area as it falls within my Ward, I know how it was before and I know how it is now, all thanks to our Chairman,” Solawon opined.

Also, the Deputy Leader and Councillor representing Ward C1, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Princess Basirat Banjoko, recounted what happened at the last Ojude Oba where Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, proposed the renaming Market Street after Builder Olusesan Daini.

“Odofin rose and suggested to rename the Market Street Igbogbo after the Council Chairman, Builder Olusesan Daini, due to his tremendous work, and people were very excited and happy with this pronouncement,” Banjoko recalled.

The Majority Leader and Councillor representing Ward C4, Hon. Mathew Kolawole Arowolo, thereafter moved the Motion to rename the Market Street Igbogbo after the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Daini.

The motion was seconded by Hon. Princess Basirat Banjoko, and the road was renamed: “COMRADE OLUSESAN DAINI ROAD.

Under Olusesan Daini's visionary leadership, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA has witnessed transformative growth in the economic development, infrastructure, education, healthcare, political reform, cultural preservation, security (JTF), Empowerment, and human capital development. 

The Legislative Arm also addressed the pressing community concerns, mandating reminders to be sent to the Council Chairman regarding the erection of barriers on Market Street, the need for parliamentary action on Oluwo Amoju, and the urgent requirement for intervention on Demeke Street to ensure easy traffic and pedestrian movement.

Meanwhile, Hon. Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa, the Pioneer Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and the Baba Oloja General of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, equally commended Daini for his outstanding performance in the local government. 

Ogunmuyiwa expressed his admiration, saying, “Today, I pay a lot of respect to Builder Olusesan Daini. I commend him for the great things he has been doing in our Local Government, and I will always thank him for bringing a new face to our market street.”

In the same vein, Mr. L.O. Badmus, the Council Manager, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, praised the session, describing it as interesting, highly focused, and educating. He highlighted the impressive attendance, which drew stakeholders from across the community, and the valuable contributions made by the legislators.

Alhaji Ibiyeye Rasaq, Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding work done by the Chairman. “What I witnessed today made me very happy because Builder Olusesan Daini has actually done lots of great work in our local government,” he remarked.
