ORGANISERS SET FOR ANOTHER HISTORIC IGBOGBO DAY CELEBRATION, UNVEIL ANKARA FOR 36TH EDITION. .…As Oba Kasali enjoins all to actively participate, says his Coronation Anniversary should not be further celebrated alongside Igbogbo Day Celebration.

The Organizers of this year’s 36th Edition of Igbogbo Day Celebration, was on Tuesday unveiled the official fiesta regalia (Ankara) for the year 2024 celebration, while enjoining all sons and daughters, CDAs, Business Owners and other Stakeholders to actively participate in this year's Edition.

The unveiling which took place at the Palace of Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, had in attendance the presence of HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo, Balogun Jelili Oduntan, Iyalode Ojikutu, Mr Sheriff Jinadu, Vice Chairman Igbogbo Day Planning Committee, Mr Idris Adeshina, General Secretary, Alhaji Sulaimon Adekunle, Treasurer, and other members of the planning Committee.

In his short address, the Secretary of the Planning Committee, Mr Idris Adeshina, thanked Kabiyesi, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, for his uncommon leadership quality and unmeasurable supports since he got to the throne as Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, adding that the opportunity giving members of the Igbogbo Day Planning Committee to serve Igbogbo community will always be appreciated. 

He therefore charged all Groups and Associations to actively participate to ensure that the 36th Edition of Igbogbo Day celebrations brings the desired goal. Also, Adeshina equally urged Club’s and Business Owners and other great individuals, to collaborate with the organisers to have a better celebration.

"This year's edition is scheduled to hold between 21st of November and 1st of December 2024. It will feature the most-watched football competition in Ikorodu Division, the Oba Adeboruwa Cup, Ayo Olopon, Draught Competition, Dinner with Adeboruwa, Leadership Summit, Igbogbopedia, Public Service Day, Cultural Day, Oloja Day, Youth Empowerment, Health Awareness among other socio-economic events", Adeshina highlighted.

He further reiterated the commitment and dedication of the Chairman and all members of the Committee towards achieving a world-breaking celebration amidst the economic challenges in the country. 

Meanwhile, Chief Jelili Oduntan, the Balogun of Igbogbo kingdom, in his traditional style, blessed the Planning Committee and assured them of the support and backing of the Adeboruwa-In-Council throughout the celebration. 

Also, Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, the Odofin of Igbogbo kingdom, in the same vein, expressed gratitude to the Planning Committee, for their great efforts since 2021, while charging them to maintain the good spirit. “We are very proud of you and we urge you to do more”, Odofin opined.

In his royal remarks, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, appreciated the members of the Igbogbo Day Planning Committee and charged them to ensure the inclusiveness of other tribes residing in the kingdom, noting that his annual Coronation Anniversary should not be further celebrated alongside Igbogbo Day Celebration. ”They are two different unique celebrations”, the Monarch said.

Thereafter, the Monarch unveiled the Ankara for the 36th edition of Igbogbo Day celebration to the public for onward sales and distributions. The Ankara was said to be sold for N4,000 per 4yards and it's going to be available at the Palace.
