A+ DISCIPLES SENSITISE IKORODU DIVISION VOTERS ON PVC, CELEBRATE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY IN GRAND STYLE | Shakiru Seidu. "It is imperative for eligible citizens to register and have their voters’ card, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo insists.

The Convener, Hon Adebimpe Akinsola and members of A+ Disciples, have asked residents of Ikorodu Division and the entire Lagosians to ensure that they register and collect their permanent voters card in other to participate in the next general election.

The group which was the first to endorse Ambode for second term in Lagos State, made the call during an enlightenment Walk for PVC in Igbogbo on Saturday. The walk, which started at Homat Event Centre saw them through Adeboruwa Palace and ended the Walk at Hon Akinsola's office, Igbogbo, with thousands of youths, party leaders, groups, party faithful, covered major streets in the area, witnessed distribution of flyers to educate voters.

The participants, who chanted several solidarity songs in support of Akinwunmi Ambode, carried placards with inscription such as “Total Support for Ambode 2019”, “Please, Get your PVCs and Support Continuity among others.

The Convener and former Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon Adebimpe Akinsola, while speaking with Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression Magazine, said the walk is in commemoration of A+ Disciples first Anniversary and its aimed at educating registered voters on the need to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices in the state.

“The walk is to sensitise the people on the need to collect the unclaimed voter cards lying at INEC offices. This walk is also organised to reduce voter apathy in the forthcoming 2019 general elections in Ikorodu Division.

“We have to embark on this as 2019 general elections draw close and to ensure that people participate in the processes that lead to the choice of their political leaders,” she said.

Hon Akinsola therefore commended her Boss, Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for his developmental strides across the state and urged all to support his second term ambition.

While at Adeboruwa Palace, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, applauded the courage and doggedness of Hon Akinsola towards community development and encouraged her to keep the spirit of quality leadership.

The Monarch insisted that every eligible voters must get their PVCs. "This has been discussed at Oba-in-Council's meeting, Lagos. It is imperative for any eligible citizens to register and have their voters’ card and exercise their democratic rights by casting their votes. Without PVC, you cannot vote in an election,” he explained.

Oba Kasali, who revealed this through one of his Chiefs, High Chief Tajudeen Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo, also solicited support for Governor Akinwunmi Ambode's re-election for second tenure in 2019. "Ambode is a Pride to us and Igbogbo will forever be grateful to him," the monarch said.

In his eloquent remarks, Hon Babajimi Benson, member, House of Reps, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency, also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deepen its sensitization drive on the need for the electorate to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2019 election.

JB, as he is fondly called said the electoral body should engage the religious organizations, community leaders and civil society organizations in its drive of sensitizing the people on need to get their PVCs. He decried the stress passing through by electorates that's willing to get their cards. He further enjoined the residents of Ikorodu Division to go all out and get their PVCs and vote Akinwunmi Ambode and other APC candidates in the coming general election.

The Walk did not come to an end on till the Group, A+ Disciples celebrated one of its members, Comr Olusesan Daini, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, who added one to his age on the same day.

While addressing the crowd, the Chairman thanked the Convener and members of A+ Disciples and other party leaders for their support and guidance. He urged residents of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA to take the collection of PVC as priority.

Others were Prince Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa, Chairman A+ Disciples Lagos State, Hon Gbenga Basanya, two term Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Pastor Folorunsho Falolohun, former LGA Chairman, Ijede, APC Volunteer Group, Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard, GOA movement, Gafaar Bolowotan Team, Change Alliance, Dengel Anifowoshe Group, and other various political groups.
