An experienced professional commercial banker from Skye Bank Plc, with over 30 years of experience and the 'Asoju Oba' of Ikorodu Kingdom, Chief Kazeem Olorunnimbe Ogbara was presented with the Financial Brand personality of the year award at the 2018 Marketing Edge Brands and Advertising Excellence Award. Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, Mr Odion Aleobua of Modion Communications, Mr Nnamdi Okonkwo of Fidelity Bank among others were also bagged Political Brand Personality of the year, Outstanding personality of the year and Banker of the year respectively.

The award ceremony, which took place at Balmoral hall, Kudirat Abiola way, Oregun, in Ikeja, after the National Marketing Stakeholders Summit took place at Radisson Blue Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, celebrated over a decade of promoting what it called ‘the brand idea’ as well as the practitioners in the marketing and advertising profession. Through evolving programs designed to meet the changing needs of the marketing profession, MegaXpression Magazine learnt that Marketing EDGE was to impact the lives of many professionals and shapes a more diverse, inclusive, and highly skilled marketing industry. Each honoree exemplifies outstanding leadership, innovation, creativity and a commitment to giving back through supporting marketing education.

The organisers does not pretend to have selected all the distinguished personalities that qualified to make such historic awards. Chief Kazeem Olorunnimbe Ogbara, Asoju Oba of Ikorodu Kingdom was presented with financial Brand Personality award by two Royal Heads from Ikorodu Division, His Royal Majesties, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Ayangburen of Ikorodu and Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom.

Asoju, as Chief Kazeem Ogbara is simply and popularly called, is an entrepreneur of no mean stature, and scion of a great family, the Ogbara family of Ikorodu in Lagos State of Nigeria. He is a son to late Alhaji (Chief) Lamidi Ogbara, the patriarch of the family and a prosperous and popular billionaire businessman of his time; and late Alhaja Moriat Ogbara.

While speaking with Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression Magazine thanked his amiable wife, children, organisers, and all that made it happened. He further expressed his profound gratitude to Ayangburen of Ikorodu and Adeboruwa of Igbogbo. He said, "In most social gathering, they love kabiyesi, HRM Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V, the Ayangburen and paramount ruler of Ikorodu Division. People love to see him everywhere, he is a man that is full of style, style with a very strong brand and am happy to be associated with him.

"The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo is also a wonderful and well chosen king, A Kabiyesi that I met recently and am quite glad and I promise am going to see more of him, am going to visit his palace, am going to see him on a regular basis.

This Award is for the people of Ikorodu Division for better performance, that is what we are doing for Ikorodu in Lagos State, we are positioning Ikorodu to a better place. This is a town that must be reckoned with, it is a town that its economy has grown over the years, it is a town that has brought so much income into Ikorodu because of the huge improvement in commercial activities, you can see from every quota of the wall in Nigeria, we have tribes enjoying themselves and they are living very fine and are happy. People are coming more and more, so restructuring Ikorodu to accommodate more people is one of the programmes of the Palace.
