The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Mr Fakolade Oluwafemi Oluwaseun, and the entire leadership of NUT Ikorodu Branch, have dignified the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, HRM Oba (Barr.) AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, by naming a football competition on him to celebrate World Teachers Day. Saying the Monarch has been playing a fatherly role to the NUT and contributing greatly to the development of Education Sector.

According to information gathered by MegaXpression Media, Mr Fakolade said, "with utmost respect and humanity, the NUT Ikorodu Branch, at our extraordinary meeting arrived at an awesome decision to name the second edition of the World Teachers Day football competition for this year as "HIS ROYAL MAJESTY, OBA ABDULSEMIU ORIMADEGUN KASALI FOOTBALL COMPETITION.

 "This is in recognition of his fatherly role and unquantified contribution to our great Union and Education Sector in general," Fakolade explained. Stating that the final of the competition will come up at Igbogbo Sports Stadium on Friday, 1st October.

While speaking with MegaXpression Media, HRM Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, thanked the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Ikorodu Branch, for the honor bestowed upon him, noting that it will only encourage him to do more in Education sector.

Oba Kasali further enjoined all to celebrate peacefully, the Nigeria 61st Independence, expressing optimism that the Sanwo-Olu led Administration would succeed in its quest to reduce the rate of poverty, change the economic fortunes and stem the tide of insecurity in Lagos State, saying it would however require all hands to be on deck.
