It was an eventful occasion on January 1, 2022, when some of the All Progressives Congress, APC, leaders in Ikorodu Division, at different gatherings celebrated new year festival with party stalwarts and members of their families.

The turnouts were very impressive at all venues. People of different pedigrees were in attendance inside the compounds of Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe and Hon Adebimpe Akinsola, where fabrics and attires of different colours rented the air and the guests were beaming with smiles.

SOB Agunbiade, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Bldr. Olusesan Mayokun Daini, Aremo Adesegun Ogunlewe, former Sole Administrator, Mrs Bolanle Basorun, Wards Councillors, led by the national Chairman, Councillors Forum of Nigeria, Hon Nurudeen Alimi, APC stalwarts, members of their families, religious leaders, friends and well wishers.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family. During the meeting held at Osugbo Abalaye Shrine , where Lantan family were asked to pay fine of almost One million naira worth of sacrifice because of Mr Shakiru Sanni's misconduct, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali , emphasized that Shakiru Sanni's removal as Olumale Eluku was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo
