Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative LTD/ GTE (IDPIL/G), which was established recently to tackle insecurity, conflicts and violence in the Division, has again launched a life insurance policy, free medical services, amongst other welfare packages to members of the Local Joint Task Force, to ease their job in giving the best.
The Executive Secreatary of the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative, Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru made this announcement recently while addressing operatives of the body at a special reception organized for them at the Ayangburen palace, Ikorodu.
Abiru, in his speech noted that IDPILG was leaving no stone unturned in order to give the local joint task force operatives of the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative good welfare package.
"Your welfare is Paramount in our hearts. The little things we have done for you when you were in camp clearly indicates what we have in store for you", he said.
Abiru further added, "in another week or two, we are going to provide life insurance cover for everyone of you. Also, we will soon unveil a free medical package in conjunction with some organisations, to get you free medical treatment at the hospital for you and maximum four of your children and your wife."
He also used the opportunity to observe a one minute silence to one of the operatives, Mr. Onafowope Olusoji who died in a motor accident few days earlier.
In his earlier welcome address, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi commended the operatives for heeding the call for community service, by volunteering to serve in the Local Joint Task Force.
The Monarch also assured them of his support and that of all the royal fathers of Ikorodu Division to ensure their success.
Oba Shotobi therefore made a cash donation of N250,000 to the operatives as a token of his support and encouragement.
Mainwhile, a major highpoint of the event was the presentation of the Certificate of Training of the operatives from the Nigeria Police College, Ikeja to the Ayangburen by the Commandant of the Local Joint Task Force, Chief Lanre Labinjo.
The event was attended by the Honourable Secretary of IDPILG, Mr Taiwo Salami Awolaru, some Baales among other community stakeholders.
