The Inspector General of Police in Nigeria, Mr Usman Alkali Baba, on Monday, January 17, 2022, charged the CEO of Western Funeral Home Limited, Abule-Eko, off Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Mr Oluwatosin Onamade, before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, claiming that Onamade gave false allegations against one Hon. Fatiu Salisu, former Chairman, Ijede LCDA, over an attack on his Cemetery Complex, which claimed the life of Mr Tony Godfrey, on April 16, 2021.

The matter, which was before the Court of competent jurisdiction, of Honourable Justice A.O. Faji, was called at 9:42am and adjourned till February 16, 2022, asking the Applicant to produce the accused in court for hearing.

In a 2-Count charge leveled against Oluwatosin Onamade, the IGP claimed that the accused has commited an illegal act to wit, intentionally circulating a grossly offensive publication through his Facebook/Instagram handle, which he knew to be false, for the purpose of causing insult to one Hon. Fatiu Salisu, former Chairman, Ijede LCDA, by accusing him of the murder of late Tony Godfrey, claiming Onamade thereby committed an offence punishable under section 24 of the cyber crimes Act, 2015.

Also, that Oluwatosin Onamade, sometime in May 2021 in Lagos within the jurisdiction of this honorable court, knowingly caused the transmission of communication through his WhatsApp to harass one Hon. Fatiu Salisu, by falsely alleging that Fatiu sponsored the attack at Western Funeral Home Limited Office and murder of late Tony Godfrey, claiming Onamade had equally committed an offence punishable under section 24(2)(a) of the cybercrimes Act 2015, MegaXpression Media gathered.
