COMMENDATIONS, JOY, AS REP. BABAJIMI BENSON FLAGS -OFF CONSTRUCTION OF ODUBOTE LINK ROAD MAJIDUN/ OGOLONTO IN IKORODU. | Shakiru Seidu. ...Promises to ensure delivery of another quality road project with street lights.

The ambience of Majidun and Ogolonto communities in Ikorodu, Lagos State, adorned a merrily look on Monday, as the Chairman House Committee on Defence, at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, flagged off the construction of Odubote link road, Majidun/ Ogolonto. The road will no doubt, after completion, reduce drastically the constant traffic at Ogolonto junction.

Speaking at the flagging off ceremony, Rep. Benson enjoined the indigenes who gathered in their numbers to witness the flag off event, to be thankful to the iCARE Foundation DG, Mayor Muyideen Sanwoola and the Chairman Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, for nominating the road, saying the road was in response to the persistent demands by key stakeholders in the community.

Benson said the construction was in response to the massive demands by key stakeholders of Majidun and Ogolonto communities for government's presence, commending the prompt response by the Chairman Ikorodu West LCDA, in submitting the road design within 24 hours after request.

Benson equally promised to do all within his power to ensure the delivery of quality road project, with accompanying street lights, which would enhance the value of property in the community, assuring that the road will be built with the latest interlocking block to ensure durability and endurance for trucks and lorries, MegaXpression Media reports.

Community leaders, Mr Musiliudeen Olayemi, Alhaji Okakiitan and Pastor E.A Adebayo, commended Hon Benson, for his uncommon gesture by bringing democracy dividends to them. They pleaded with the lawmaker to ensure strict compliance to standard and quality delivery of the road through close monitoring.

In their remarks, the Baales of the two communities, Majidun and Ogolonto, applauded Benson, and honored him with the titles of Atunluse of Ogolonto and Bawaselu of Majidun communities, noting that the project was the first federal government's project in the entire Majidun / Ogolonto area.

Also, speaking on behalf of the APC leaders in Ikorodu West LCDA, Alhaji Saka, expressed gratitude to Hon Benson, who he referred to as his learned colleague, for attracting the road project to the LCDA, saying Benson’s exemplary performance was a virtue he inherited from his late father.

The DG of Lagos State Sports Commission, Prince Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan, Ikorodu West APC Chairman, Mr Bayo Lawson, and the Councillor Ward B, Hon. Boluwatife, also in the same vein, thanked Hon. Benson for this facilitation, assuring the contractors of peaceful atmosphere and cooperation from the community, particularly the youths throughout the duration of the road project.

The Contractor Company's name is Sharp Realtors and was represented by some of their Senior Officers; Engr Hakeem Adewunmi, QS Bamidele Gold, QS Adetoun and QS Olumide Oladele.
