The Oriwu College Old Students Association of Nigeria (OCOSAN) on Saturday, June 13, 2026, recorded a historic milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony of its proposed National Secretariat Building during the association's Founders' Day celebration.
Speaking at the landmark event, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, and other OCOSAN Leaders, described the project as more than a physical structure, noting that it represents the association's collective vision, unity, and commitment to preserving the rich heritage of Oriwu College. The Secretariat is expected to serve as the administrative and operational hub of the association, fostering collaboration, mentorship, and service among generations of Oricollians.
Meanwhile, the President, Comrade M.B.S Arole, expressed gratitude to God and applauded the Board of Trustee members, other national Executive Council, donors, class sets, branches at home and in the diaspora, and all members whose support has brought the project to reality. He emphasized that the Secretariat would stand as a lasting monument to excellence, service, continuity, and the enduring spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood that defines OCOSAN.
The Chairman Building Committee, TPL Sherifat Yetunde Adegbola Onile-ere, also called on members and friends of the association to sustain their support to ensure the successful completion of the project, stressing that the edifice would become a befitting legacy for future generations of Oricollians.
The event attracted notable personalities and distinguished alumni, including Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, Alhaja Lamina, Sir David Sumoni, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, Engr. Charles Longe, Prof. Abdul, Hon. Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje, and Alhaji Olutosin, among others.
The groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter in OCOSAN's history, reinforcing the association's commitment to excellence, integrity, unity, and service while laying the foundation for a future-focused national secretariat that will serve generations to come.
