IGBOGBO SETS STAGE FOR HISTORIC CELEBRATION AS ADEBORUWA MARKS 10 YEARS ON THRONE


The people of Igbogbo Kingdom have officially commenced preparations for the 10th Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade I, with a call on residents, stakeholders and the media to join in celebrating a decade of remarkable traditional leadership.

Addressing MegaXpression and other media Practioners at the Aafin Adeboruwa, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, described the anniversary as more than a royal celebration, noting that it represents ten years of unity, stability and sustained community development under the monarch's reign.

Ogunlewe explained that since ascending the throne in 2016, the Adeboruwa has continued to provide purposeful leadership that has strengthened the kingdom's cultural identity while attracting developmental projects and increasing Igbogbo's relevance in Lagos State.

According to him, the anniversary programme has been carefully designed to reflect the values of the kingdom through initiatives that promote education, healthcare, youth engagement, social welfare, culture and community service. Activities lined up include medical outreach, public lectures, sporting events, cultural displays, palliative distribution, visits to orphanages, religious services, traditional rites, chieftaincy conferment and a grand finale.

Prince Ogunlewe noted that the celebration had already begun with educational support for over 500 secondary school students through free JAMB CBT training, alongside the unveiling of the official commemorative Aso-Ebi for the anniversary.

He expressed appreciation to political leaders, government officials, community organisations, religious bodies, traditional chiefs and development partners whose collaboration has contributed to the growth recorded during the past decade.

While inviting the public to participate in the weeklong celebration, the committee chairman urged members of the media to showcase the rich history, enduring culture and developmental strides of Igbogbo Kingdom, describing the anniversary as an opportunity to tell the story of a community that continues to thrive under visionary traditional leadership.
