The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, has continued to deepen his commitment to community development with the commissioning and handover of a Primary Health Centre and educational infrastructure projects across various communities in Ikorodu Division.
Among the landmark projects commissioned on Thursday was the rehabilitated Elepe Primary Health Centre in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA. The upgraded facility is expected to enhance access to quality healthcare services for residents of Elepe and adjoining communities, while strengthening primary healthcare delivery at the grassroots.
In the education sector, newly completed classroom blocks were commissioned and handed over at Methodist Primary School, Gberigbe; Primary School, Akaun; Model Primary School, Shagamu Road; and the Arts and Craft Centre, Igbogbo. The projects are aimed at providing a more conducive learning environment for pupils and supporting the advancement of basic education across the division.
Speaking through his Special Adviser on Constituency Matters, Dr. Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle, Ph.D, Senator Abiru reiterated the importance of sustained investment in healthcare and education, describing both sectors as critical pillars for sustainable development. He assured residents that he would continue to pursue impactful interventions and provide quality representation for the people of Lagos East Senatorial District.
The Senator also acknowledged the support of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR in facilitating the execution of constituency projects and called on residents to continue supporting efforts aimed at fostering national growth, economic stability and improved living standards.
Education Secretary, LGEA, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, other community leaders, education officials and residents who attended the commissioning ceremonies praised Senator Abiru for his consistent investment in people-oriented projects, noting that the interventions would have far-reaching benefits for generations to come.
The projects form part of Senator Abiru's broader developmental agenda across Lagos East, which has seen the facilitation of numerous educational, healthcare, infrastructural and empowerment initiatives designed to improve the welfare and socio-economic well-being of constituents.
Dignitaries at the events included former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola; Alhaja Sherifat Abiodun Ogunniyi; Comrade Kehinde Oke-Owo; Alhaji Musiliu Sulaimon (Ola 4); executives of Community Development Committees (CDCs), and other notable community stakeholders.
The Chairmen Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Ikorodu North LCDA and Ikorodu Central were duly represented by their Chief of Staff and Supervisory Councillors.
