ÀMÒTÉKÙN HAS COME TO STAY IN SOUTH WESTERN PART OF NIGERIA, SAYS MEGAXPRESSION'S PUBLISHER, SHAKIRU SEIDU, FROWNS AT MALAMI'S POSITION.

The Publisher of the MegaXpression Community Magazine, Mr Shakiru Seidu has said the emergence of Amotekun in the Southwest Region of Nigeria is a welcome development. He expressed dissatisfaction against the position of the Attorney General of the federation, Justice Abubakar Malami, saying it's illegal and should be scrapped.

According the the Publisher while addressing the newsmen during the celebration of his 46th birthday anniversary in Ikorodu, Lagos, Seidu said, "the Attorney General of the Federation was reported to have declared the regional community security outfit (Amotekun) illegal. I don't agree to this, the security of lives and properties of ours should not be compromised.

"The issue of Amotekun is an issue of Public Safety and Protection of property. In fact, I'm not aware of any law in Nigeria which prevents citizens from being able to secure their lives and properties.

"Indeed without protecting the right to life and property, no other right can be exercised as one has to be alive to enforce other rights as guaranteed in the Constitution.

"More than ever before, the security of lives and property of the good people of this country has been deliberately infiltrated and compromised by the high and mighty in the land for the reason best known to them. A lot of promising young men and women have been sent to their early grave due to insecurity and the lip service paid to the well being of the generality of the people by the supposed leaders.

"In the recent time, the cattle rustlers have invaded some South Western part of this country, killing several of our people with impunity and up till now, no one has been brought to book.

"It is so appalling considering the rate at which insecurity has reduced our nation into. Several animalistic behaviours have been unleashed on the innocent Nigerians at different times and in all parts of the federation. Kidnapping, child trafficking, barbaric human sacrifice, robbery, assassination attempts and several others have been unabated in the recent past. The constituted security operatives have been overpowered severally thereby exposing the lives of the vulnerable to dangers.

"However, any form of infiltration should be treated as illegality and should be  treated with drastic measures in so much that it threatens the peace of the people. AMOTEKUN RULES are simple; don't kidnap a single Yoruba. Don't kill a single Yoruba. Dont kill non-Yoruba on Yoruba soil. Don't kidnap non-Yoruba on Yoruba soil. Don't destroy the farmlands of Yoruba people. Don't open graze on Yoruba land, get a place to rear your cattle or herd. No RUGA in Yoruba Land. Do your business lawfully on Yoruba soil.

"Henceforth, every single life of Yoruba person will be accounted for. Osun, Ogun, EKiti, Lagos, Oyo, Ondo  all 12 Local governments Yoruba speaking area of Kwara state, Ako Edo, Yoruba in Kogi  are all Yoruba Lands. Àmòtékùn could and will be friendly.

"The South Western part of Nigeria had experienced one two many massacre and there is need to put a stop to this menace been perpetrated by strangers among us. Àmòtékùn as a security outfit is not in contest with the military or other security operatives but to cushion the effect of insecurity withing our region and to provide adequate security for our people.

"If the Federal government dare fault the creation of Àmòtékùn, then it will not be out of place to say Nigeria's Constitution is faulty and this is outrightly illogical, demeaning, oppressive and the attempt to cleverly keep wasting the lives of the innocent citizens. Why can't the Federal government recognize Àmòtékùn?

"Are there any ulterior motives on the side of the Federal government to practically silence the South West?

"I hereby call on the concern citizens to rise and resist any form of intimidation from the Federal government to proscribe Àmòtékùn. The Boko Haram insurgents have wrecked more havoc in this country yet, the government failed to proscribe it. Does it mean that some in the corridor of power are benefitting from the largesse of the deadly Boko Haram?

"Regardless of party affiliation and political interest, all the South Western governors are expected to put sentiment aside and form a synergy that will make  Àmòtékùn outfit workable."

Yoruba ronu o!!!
