SECOND EDITION OF iCARE LECTURE SERIES: LAWMAKER SETS TO ADD TO BODY OF KNOWLEDGE IN IKORODU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY. It's a platform for Professionals to enlighten the residents on current trends in political, social, economic and employment outlook of Nigeria, Jimi Benson explains.

The second edition of the iCare lecture series, being sponsored by the Chairman, House Committee on Defense, representing  Ikorodu federal Constituency, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, is holding on 27th and 28th of January 2020, at the Regal Hall, Olu-Odo in Igbogbo, Lagos State, Nigeria.

According to the organisers, registration for the 2020 lecture series has commenced and interested participants have been directed to register online: http://jimibenson.com/lecture-series/ and call 0818 790 9898 for further information.

“The Lecture Series is designed to contribute to the body of knowledge of Ikorodu Division residents. It is to serve as a platform for Professionals to enlighten the residents on current trends in Political, Social, Economic and Employment outlook of Nigeria and the World in general”, JB, as he fondly called, said this on social media.

“We hope to use the lecture series to drive attitudinal changes in our community for Good Leadership, Entrepreneurship and to instill confidence in our youths to enable them compete globally”, he added.

He further stated that the opening day of the series, themed, “Community First Initiatives: A Selfless Service”, is centered around Leadership and Community Development while the guest Speaker of the day is the sole speaker at the inaugural edition, Mr Akin Alabi.

Other four resource persons slated to speak at the opening day are: Akinyemi, who will speak on ‘Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship’, while Bayo Oteju will be engaging the audience on ‘The entrepreneurial mindset’; and Bisola Olusanya, the Special  Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Agriculture, will speak on ‘Youth entrepreneurship as a way of boosting national economy’ as well as Olajumoke Benson who is scheduled to speak on, ‘Running a successful business in Nigeria: The challenges’.

The second session is tagged, ‘The Future is Now’, and it is designed for Entrepreneurial Development. The guest speaker at session is Lanre Olusola, founder of NairaBET.com.

Other resource persons that will be speaking are Mayor Deen Sanwoola, Dr Abiodun Fatai-Abatan and Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru, Chairman, Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS). They would be speaking on, ‘Leading yourself, leading others and leading the community’, ‘How to make leadership decision’, ‘Leadership in politics’ and ‘Positioning youths for political leadership’ respectively.
