The facilitator of the 1.7km Igbe/Oreyo road, Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, who's representing Ikorodu federal Constituency, has today inspected the 1.7 kilometre road project, in order to ease the movement of goods and services in the area.
Benson, during the inspection, said to MegaXpression News that the rehabilitation project had become necessary to fulfil one of his social services to the people, noting that the essence of the road rehabilitation was to ease difficulties faced by motorists on the road, thereby making life difficult for the people.
“One of my major campaign promises was to provide social services to the people. Without good roads, there can’t be development in any community, especially areas so rounded with commercial activities,” Benson said.
“When you have good road network, it open doors for industrialist and investors, particularly those interested in tourist resorts and recreational centres,” he added.
The lawmaker thanked the residents of Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs and the people of Ikorodu federal Constituency for the unflinching supports bestowed upon him, assuring them of more quality representation and attracting more people-oriented projects for his constituents.
Also, the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Bldr Olusesan Mayokun Daini, who was part of the entourage that inspected the road project, applauded the magnanimity of Hon Jimi Benson, noting that the lawmaker have truly kept to his words.
Speaking with the Contractor, the representative of JRB Investment Engr. Mohammed Odakim, said he's happy with level of cooperation by the residents, stating that the road project will be completed within the next five months."
Also, the Owner of De-Sleek Hotel and member of Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs, Mr Tunde Gboade, while speaking with MegaXpression correspondence, thanked Hon. Benson, lauding his uncommon passion for community development.
“Residents and commuters of this road have suffered a lot due to the dilapidated state of the road. However, the rehabilitation will put and end to the sufferings of the people plying the road," Gboade said.
