The House of Assembly Member, representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka, has charged people of his constituency to join the Lagos State government in moving the State forward.
MegaXpression Community News reports that the lawmaker said this recently during the Constituency Stakeholders meeting held at Megalite Hall Igbogbo, Lagos, where he gives feedback and discuss the challenges and prospects of post Covid-19 pandemic.
The meeting which had in attendance various dignitaries, such as the Royal Heads, His Royal Majesties, Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kindgom, Oba Engr. Olusanya Richard, Olubeshe of Ibeshe, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Chief Adenrele Olowu and other political leaders, Chairman Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Bldr Olusesan Mayokun Daini, traditional Chiefs, religious leaders, league of Baales, APC Stalwarts, CDCs, NURTW, Market women and men, Youths, Artisans, groups and Associations.
In his keynote address, Hon Sholaja-Saka, urged everyone to contribute actively and positively to the progress of the community, local government and State as a whole, insisting that he'll continue to represent adequately at the State Assembly, MegaXpression reports.
"You are all highly commended for your resilience and ability to adapt in the face of the changing socio-economic situation in our country, that has led to a number of new businesses, such as the local production of safety health kits, nose masks, hand sanitizers, delivery services and others.
Entrepreneurs are encouraged to be more innovative and creative in the face of the changing world situation.
"Thus, in the tackling the socio-economic challenges posted by the COVID-19 pandemic, individuals are encouraged to look into the effective management of the various post pandemic opportunities, such as business creation by exploring e-commerce, adapting to the new ICT potentials, acquiring relevant skills or education, while government must also invest more in e-government to facilitate a more efficient and rubust governance.
"During the pandemic, we started with the distributions of hand sanitizers, nose masks and food palliatives which was not available to all households. I had to organize the second phase of palliatives distribution to 7,000 households and also conducted tutorial lecture for English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology," the lawmaker explained.
He further assured that the 9th Assembly would continue to do everything within its reach to bring governance closer to the people to enable participatory in governance. "I urge you to continue to support the government by the way of performing your civil roles," Sholaja-Saka added.
After a robust deliberation, Hon. Sholaja-Saka responded to all questions and requests by his constituents, noting that the State government will definitely give adequate attention to all.
