One of the councillorship Aspirants from Ward C3 in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Saidat Adeoba Odeyemi, was on Saturday, May 1, 2021, organized a free health programme for the people of Bayeku, Oreta and Offin communities. She equally gave free JAMB forms for the youth and stipends for the senior citizens across the three major communities.
Speaking with MegaXpression Media, Saidat said she follows the saying ‘health is wealth’ by supporting the less privileged individuals in Ward C3, specifically to improve on their health condition. She maintained that the focus is to enlighten, test and provide treatment support for the people.
Saidat also expressed displeasure on a community like Bayeku without having a Town Hall, noting that it was due to lack of representation at the Council. "I want everyone to support my ambition in the forthcoming Council Elections, towards quality representation," she pleaded.
Also, she assured to organize a free lesson coaching for all secondary school students during their holiday. "I'll facilitate and empower the youths and give out any available slots from the Local Council," Saidat added.
The CEO of Vigo Optical, Optician Olatunde Idris Kuku, in his health talk address said, most people have eye challenges but they are not aware of it because they thinks they are getting older, especially people within the age of fourty and above, while most people also sees eye test as a difficult task because they feels using of glasses is a problem.
"Taking care and been conscious of the eye is very important because is very important as far as the body is concern. We need to careful with the kind of work we engage ourselves with, most especially people that are used to firewood," he said.
Kuku further advised to do away with whatsoever that has to do with stress and exposure of sun which is the major cause of cataract. "Eating of too much carbohydrates repeatedly without enough vegetables can be of negative impact in one's body system but eating and other fruits most especially carrot helps the sight," he added.
In his remarks, the Baale of Bayeku community, Chief Saheed Aleje, appreciated Saidat Odeyemi and applauded her gesture, saying that it will be of good benefit to Bayeku residents.
An APC Chieftain from Ward C3, Prince Adeola Adeniran, also thanked Saidat Odeyemi for her kind gesture, noting that the gesture equally promote the good emage of APC.
Alhaji Badmus Abiodun Lawal, equally applauded Saidat Odeyemi, and urged all residents of Ward C3, which comprises of Oreta, Offin and Bayeku to give her the support in becoming the next Councillor.
